The nobles of “Historic” Doric Temple No. 76 PHA participated in the 15th annual Juneteenth Parade in the heart of Acres Homes in the Oasis of Houston to commemorate 159 years of emancipation of slavery in the United States.
On June 19, 1865, news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached Galveston, Texas, marking the end of slavery in the United States. Subsequently, this day represents freedom, resilience, and the enduring spirit of African Americans.
As we honor Juneteenth, let us reflect on the struggles and triumphs of those who fought for freedom and equality. As men of noble birth let us also commit ourselves to continuing the fight against injustice and inequality in all forms and may this day inspire the nobility across the domain to build a future where every person enjoys true freedom and equality.
