MIST Houston Muslim Inter-Scholastic Tournament | Are you MISTified? Instagram: We do this through our annual regional and national tournaments.

Our mission is to bring high school students together to develop leadership, promote communication, and inspire creativity while gaining a deeper understanding of Islam and Muslims. MIST was founded in 2002 by a teenage girl in Houston, Texas and now takes place in 15 regions across North America. We are dedicated to empowering high school students by giving them a venue to:

Develop confidence an

d professionalism by practicing presentation, public speaking, and problem solving skills
Meet and network with diverse peers who share the same talents and interests
Express their thoughts and ideas through various creative mediums
Learn strategies to deal with stereotypes and prejudices against Islam and Muslims

Be a part of MIST Houston 2024 as a volunteer or judge!

Judges must be 21+ and can choose to judge a competition that is relevant to their skill and background. This is a great opportunity to connect with students and be exposed to the great minds of our young Muslim Ummah!

Volunteers must be high school graduates (18+) and can choose from a list of roles on how they’d like to be involved. This is a chance to connect with other volunteers, students, and get to know the organizers a little too!

Sports weekend is quickly approaching! We are excited to see everyone show up and show out on Saturday, April 13th and Sunday, April 14th!

Please be sure to bring your School ID or be ready log into Skyward. A sports waiver will be emailed to all sports competitions and we recommend you also bring snacks and water!

Pizza will be provided for sports competitions ONLY and concessions will be sold for competitiors and spectators.

Rules for spectating:
Sisters sports = girls ONLY
Brothers football + soccer = boys ONLY
Brothers basketball = open to all

A massive thank you to all students, coaches, guests, volunteers, and judges that joined us in February for the 20th year anniversary of MIST Houston!! It was great to see everyone back after 2 years.

Congratulations to all of our winners and we can't wait to see you all again at Nationals and for MIST Houston 2023!
