Center for International Studies, UST Established in 1981, the Center for International Studies is Houston's oldest degree-granting center of international higher learning.

Faculty at the Center offer specializations in a broad range of regional, topical, and functional areas. Students may complete an academic major in International Studies or International Development. In addition, they have the option of pursuing a joint major with Catholic Studies, Communication, Economics, Environmental Studies, Political Science, Romance Languages and Spanish. The Center for International Studies 2026 Young Diplomat and Global Affairs Camp which will occur June 1st-5th inside Anderson Hall on the campus of the University of St. Thomas. This camp is for high school students.

On April 9, 2026, the Center for International Studies at the University of St. Thomas, in partnership with the University of St. Thomas (TX) and the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston, had the honor of hosting Ambassador Rahul Chhabra.
Ambassador Chhabra delivered an insightful discussion on diplomacy, development, and the evolving global order, highlighting India’s growing role on the world stage.
