Rice University South Asian Society We are a student organization at Rice University dedicated to promoting awareness of South Asian culture on campus.

Rice University's South Asian Society (SAS) is a secular, non-partisan student organization dedicated to spreading awareness of the cultures of South Asia through language, song, dance, and service. Membership is open to the entire student body, and we hold various cultural events and programs to share the South Asian experience with Rice University — and beyond. Board Members '21-'22

Want some FREE FOOD? Care about the environment? This SUNDAY (2/20) from 12-2 PM, SAS is going to Hermann Park to restore the environment and protect wildlife. TLDR: T-2 HOURS UNTIL PRE-SALE ENDS FOR DHAMAKA 2021!!!!!

We are so excited to be hosting Dhamaka, our annual cultural showcase, THIS SUNDAY, December 5th, from 5-8 PM at Tudor Fieldhouse!

If you haven’t already heard, Dhamaka is Rice University’s largest annual cultural showcase (with 700+ attendees every year), displaying a variety of music, dance, spoken word, and food from all across South Asia.

Ticket entry ($10) includes a FREE South Asian meal served after the show!!!!! Pre-sale ends TONIGHT at 11:59 PM (tickets are then $15 through sunday) so make sure to secure ur spot ASAP!

Rice University South Asian Society is so excited to present Dhamaka 2021, held this year on Sunday, Dec 5th from 5 - 8 PM at Tudor Fieldhouse Autry Gym!!
Every year, this event serves as a true culmination of students, faculty, and community members that come together to celebrate South Asian culture. Examples of past performances include Bhangra, A Capella, Singing, Bollywood, Classical, Stand up Comedy, Poetry, Spoken Word, and Garba/Raas.

Sign Up to volunteer on the Dhamaka Committee, participate in the Fashion show, or perform as an individual/group act!! ALL SIGN-UPS ARE DUE THURSDAY (10/14) at 11:59 PM.
