🚨🔥 Fire Safety Awareness and Smoke Alarm Training 🔥🚨
🏠🛡️ As part of its commitment to building safer and more resilient communities, Sewa International partnered with American Red Cross to provide fire safety education and smoke alarm awareness training to community members and local contractors.
🔔🚨 The training highlighted the critical role smoke alarms play in protecting lives and property by providing early warning in the event of a fire. Participants learned about:
🏠 ✅ The benefits of properly installed and maintained smoke alarms
📍 🔔 Recommended placement within homes
🔧 ✔️ Routine testing and maintenance procedures
🔥 🛑 Fire prevention best practices
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 🤝 By educating homeowners and contractors, the initiative helped increase awareness of home fire safety, encouraged the installation of working smoke alarms, and strengthened the community’s preparedness to respond to fire emergencies.

🌟 Serving the Community Together! 🌟
Today, 75+ dedicated Sewa volunteers came together at the to support families across the Greater Houston area through a meaningful day of service.
Working as a team, volunteers inspected, sorted, and palletized food items to help ensure nutritious meals reach households facing food insecurity. The energy, enthusiasm, and spirit of service were truly inspiring, with many volunteers participating alongside their parents and family members.
Together, our volunteers:
✅ Sorted 22 pallets of food
✅ Processed 20,000+ pounds of food
✅ Helped provide approximately 16K+ meals to individuals and families in need
This impactful effort highlights the power of community service and the difference we can make when we come together with a shared purpose.
A heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers and to the Houston Food Bank for the opportunity to serve. 🙏

What an incredible and heartwarming session we had on May 23rd, 2026!
With 62 enthusiastic attendees, the program turned into a wonderful blend of learning, laughter, wellness, and community bonding.
Dr. Kiritbhai delivered an outstanding and highly interactive session filled with practical, down-to-earth tips for healthy and happy living. From the importance of eating nutritious foods like almonds, walnuts, beans, dals, and Greek yogurt to maintaining a healthy lifestyle with a balanced routine, light dinners, and meaningful social interactions — every insight resonated deeply with the audience.
The session was not only informative but also full of humor, engaging discussions, and thoughtful Q&A that kept everyone involved and energized throughout the event. Participants especially appreciated the emphasis on staying socially connected, active, and joyful at every stage of life.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kiritbhai for taking time away from his personal family commitments to guide our seniors with such warmth and wisdom. We are also deeply grateful for his generous sponsorship of the delicious food served at the event and his generous $500 donation to Gayatri Temple.
Special appreciation to the amazing Sewa Senior Volunteers led by Pranavbhai, whose dedication and care truly reflected the spirit of Sewa — from managing weather-related challenges to personally assisting seniors back to their cars with umbrellas. ️
The overwhelming positive feedback from attendees has inspired us to invite Dr. Kiritbhai again soon, and we are excited about the possibility of sharing his wellness ideas through videos, booklets, and future sessions!
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the event so meaningful and memorable.

Sewa International USA, in collaboration with Jain Vishwa Bharti (JVB) and Vande Wellness, successfully organized an insightful session on “Mental Wellness – The Ayurvedic Way” on May 10th, 2026.
The session explored mental wellness through the combined perspectives of Ayurveda and modern medicine, helping participants understand the root causes of challenges such as anxiety and depression. It highlighted Ayurveda’s personalized healing approach focused on balancing individual doshas and addressing the root cause rather than just the symptoms.
Participants also learned about traditional herbs and natural remedies that may support mental well-being under expert guidance.
The session encouraged a holistic, mindful, and sustainable approach toward mental wellness and overall well-being.

Senior Sewa Sugar Land Group organized a meaningful Field Visit to a Sewa Service Project on May 16th, 2026 in Rosharon, TX, offering seniors a firsthand experience of Sewa’s impactful community outreach.
Community member Phani ji shared heartfelt insights into the devastating effects of hurricanes on local homes and greenhouses, and how Sewa volunteers have continuously supported rebuilding efforts for over 10 years, currently in collaboration with the American Red Cross. Seniors listened with compassion, explored the greenhouses to learn about fresh vegetable cultivation, and engaged in thoughtful discussions on ways to support the community.
A key highlight was Sewa’s collaboration with Dr. Lekshmi Nair ji to provide free medical lab checkups for both the Rosharon community and Senior Sewa participants, including A1C, cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglyceride screenings. Special appreciation to Dr. Lekshmi Nair ji and her dedicated staff for their valuable service.
The visit concluded with a peaceful experience at the beautiful Buddhist temple in Rosharon, where seniors admired inspiring depictions of ancient stories. Blending service, healthcare, learning, and spirituality, the visit became a memorable and impactful experience for all.
