Your voice matters, and today is the day to take action! Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, is the last day to register to vote in Texas for the Nov. 3 election.

Here is how eligible residents can register today:

Check whether you are already registered.
Visit VoteTexas.gov using the link below and select the “Am I Registered?” portal.

Complete a voter registration application.
Follow the application link on VoteTexas.gov. If you fill out the form online, you must print and sign it. Completing the form online alone does not register you to vote.

If you cannot print an application, you can pick one up and complete it at a Harris County Tax Office.

Submit your signed application today.
You may deliver it in person or mail it to your county voter registrar.

For in-person delivery in Harris County, visit a Harris County Tax Office today. Most locations close at 4:30 p.m. The downtown location at 1001 Preston St., second floor, is listed as open until 5 p.m. Use the office locations link below to plan your visit.

If mailing your application, it must be postmarked today, Oct. 5. Take it to a USPS retail counter and request a manual postmark dated today. Some mail does not receive a same-day postmark, so dropping it in a mailbox may not meet the deadline.

Harris County Precinct One invites Fifth Ward neighbors to Fall Into Wellness, a community wellness and cancer prevention block party.

The event takes place Saturday, October 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Finnigan Gym/YET Center, 4900 Providence St., Houston, TX 77020. Activities include health screenings, cancer prevention education, wellness resources and activities for children and families. A Second Servings mobile market distribution will take place at the same time.
