☀️Happy New Member Monday!!☀️

Please give a warm welcome to

“Jocelyn Ursua began playing tenor viol in the midst of the pandemic in 2020 while finishing her Medical Doctorate program at McGovern Medical School, studying with Les Touches founder and fellow consort member Pedro Funes-Whittington. Since then, she has taken up the bass viol and treble viol and plays all three instruments with the consort. Jocelyn also has been training her voice as a tenor under Houston-based educator and performer Melissa Krueger — Jocelyn now contributes her vocals regularly for voice and viol features. Jocelyn also performs with another early music ensemble called Lutenklang, offering her bass viol and voice.

Over the years, Jocelyn has developed her involvement in the viol community of the Greater Houston area not only as the secretary for the Viols of Houston officer board but also as an active coordinator for Les Touches since its most recent revival. Outside of performing, Jocelyn loves singing every week with her choir at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.”
