We provide an avenue for awareness of the issue of human-trafficking in Houston and work towards the abolition of slavery in our city. We will work alongside a variety of anti-trafficking organizations and movements to raise awareness, generate interest, and engage the public to take action in anti-trafficking initiatives. We will be a money-making engine to fund after-care solutions for survivors

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we reflect on Dr. King’s legacy and the ongoing work of building a more just world. His vision reminds us that the fight for justice is lived every day — in the choices we make and the communities we build.

In such a heavy time, the need for connection, accountability, and collective care is imperative. Listening to one another, standing alongside those who are marginalized, and acting with intention are ways to honor Dr. King’s legacy and vision. Community and shared responsibility matter.

January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month.
At A 2nd Cup, we believe prevention begins with community, dignity, and opportunity. Creating safe spaces, fostering connection, and supporting economic independence are powerful ways to help prevent exploitation before it starts.

Throughout this month, we’ll be sharing ways communities—neighbors, customers, businesses, and everyday advocates—can help create safer, more supportive environments for all.
Because when people are valued, connected, and supported, prevention becomes possible.

We’ve been reminiscing on our time on Fulton Street—and wow, what a chapter it’s been. 🫶🏻
Swipe through for a little trip back in time.

In December 2022, our journey on Fulton Street began. Since then, we’ve:
☕ Cheered on our team at the Houston Marathon, raising $13K in support of our mission
🖐🏽 Taken part in the Red Sand Project () to raise awareness about human trafficking
🎨 Created space for Black-owned, women-owned, and ethically made brands like and
☕ Hosted survivor pop-ups, sharing art, stories, and creativity
⚖️ Connected our community to legal support through
☕ Partnered with incredible food vendors like .htx—and so many others
✨And so much more!!

None of this would have been possible without the amazing partners, vendors, artists, advocates, and neighbors who helped make this space what it was.
