The Women's Resource The Women’s Resource seeks to help women and girls make choices toward becoming independent, productive and financially stable. We also conduct RISE! RISE!

Though our financial education classes at other social service agencies and using our high quality network of over 150 volunteers we have found a model of getting free, quality, and unbiased financial to women and girls outside of the financial mainstream who otherwise would not have the opportunity or access to this type of knowledge gain. at risk high school girls in Houston. teaches girls the soft skills necessary for becoming a leader as well as the basics of budgeting for an overall empowered young woman. We believe that a women who controls her finances controls her destiny and we aim to ensure that every woman and girl in Houston has financial freedom. Volunteers - Because we are a staff of only 8, we use our network of over 150 volunteers to teach our classes, prepare materials and assist with a variety of administrative duties. What a powerful reminder of what’s possible when employers and workforce partners come together with a shared goal!

We recently had the privilege of hosting a hiring event with Cintas Corporation for their Accounts Receivable openings, and their team shared that the event was a tremendous success in connecting them with exceptional talent that might otherwise have been lost in a sea of online applications!

What a year it's been for our RISE! high school program!

Nearly 400 girls invested in themselves through financial education lessons, career and college exploration, and volunteer opportunities - and the numbers speak for themselves!

We are especially proud of our 142 graduating seniors who collectively received 432 scholarships and 916 acceptance letters! No matter their post-graduation plans, we expect nothing but great things and bright futures for each of these incredible young women.

Thanks to funders like CenterPoint Energy we are able to empower women to secure jobs and increase their income through one-on-one career coaching, professional development workshops, and vocational certifications!

In 2025, over 120 women received personalized career coaching through our career program while 43 women participated in vocational training programs ranging from community health work to HVAC and NCCER. These are more than just new skill sets - they're tangible investments in their futures!
