The time has come for our Artists Social + Favorite Tool Mystery Bag Exchange! Join us for an evening of creativity, conversation, and community!
Thursday, October 15th, 2026 6:00-8:00 PM
New Magnolia Brewing Co.
1616 Bevis St.
Houston, TX 77008
Optional Favorite Tool Mystery Bag Exchange
Here’s how it works:
• Bring your favorite new tool (or tools) with a total value of around $10 per package.
• If your favorite tool costs less than $10, add another tool to bring the total value to about $10.
• Wrap your tool(s) so the contents are a surprise!
(Wrapping paper or a paper lunch bag works great. Extra bags will be available if needed.)
• Bring up to 3 mystery bags.
• For every mystery bag you bring, you’ll get to choose one in return!
• Bring 1 → Pick 1
• Bring 2 → Pick 2
• Bring 3 → Pick 3
• If you’re bringing multiple bags, they don’t have to contain the same tools-just keep each package within $1-2 of the $10 value.
After the exchange, artists are welcome to trade
mystery bags with each other!

Jason Kishell is a multi-media artist and educator whose unique blend of quasi-science, humor, and pretense creates images of fantasy and curiosity with references to nature and the outdoors. His visual vocabulary explores the contrast between the beautiful and the grotesque along with the harshness of reality and a dash of comedy. He has a deep connection with the outdoors and relies heavily on the physical attributes found in the natural sciences to express his ideas. The narrative of his work is an investigation of the relationship between human ideals and the natural environment.

Jason earned his BFA from IUPUI, Herron School of Art and his MFA from the University of Colorado. More information may be found at www.jasonkishell.com.
