🚨 Urgent Action Needed 🚨

Alabama lawmakers are considering SB293, a dangerous bill that could criminalize standing within 25 feet of a first responder if they claim you’re “interfering with government operation.” This vague language could be used to silence protesters, push back observers, and stop people from documenting police activity.

Public recordings have been critical for accountability in cases like the killing of George Floyd. We cannot allow our right to witness and speak out to be taken away.

📧 Email the Senate Judiciary Committee NOW and tell them to oppose SB293. Our right to protest, observe, and hold power accountable is on the line. ✊🏾📢

“One thing I can tell you about some of these programs that exist: They are not providing the services they say they are providing.”

from .bham spoke on behalf of houseless neighbors of Birmingham at today’s city council meeting. This comes a week after one houseless neighbor had their possessions thrown away and forced to evacuate Linn Park. Many organizations are committed to supporting the unhoused in this city, but it is up to the city itself to reinforce these efforts.

We’ve received a direct grant to help meet the growing need for food but the truth is, hunger doesn’t live alone. It travels with housing insecurity, empty gas tanks, overdue bills, and the impossible cost of childcare. Every day, mothers and families reach out trying to hold it all together, and we meet them where systems will not.

If you believe every Black woman deserves warmth, safety, and stability we’re asking you to give today. Your giving doesn’t just fill a fridge; it keeps the lights on, the car running, and hope alive.

đź’› Care is infrastructure. Giving is resistance.
Join us in building a world where survival is not a struggle it’s a right.

People should not be forced to choose between food, rent and health care. Email the USDA today and urge the agency to release the money needed to fund November SNAP benefits in full for all eligible participants, including nearly 800,000 Alabamians. https://www.votervoice.net/ALARISE/Campaigns/131074/Respond

One of the foundations of Yellowhammer Fund's work is our deep commitment to our community. One of the ways we support the Deep South is by resourcing in ways that reject eugenics and instead support families. While we’re so grateful for support from orgs like Baby2Baby, the need is BIG, and we still have to purchase large quantities ourselves.

We're kindly asking that we come together for Birmingham parents. Email us to join the drive or to learn how to donate!

Today, at we gathered to shut down racial profiling. While educating the community with calls to direct action, we remembered those who have been lost, disappeared, and displaced by racial profiling. We’re grateful to be in the community of leaders and organizations committed to justice.

Thankful for all these orgs! Follow them and join their mission:
