A Patriotic Day!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Kim Beekman and the Manchester Country Club for inviting Honor Flight New England to be part of such a fun Patriotic Member/Guest Tournament!

Kim saw us on one of our Honor Flights and wanted to do more for our veterans. We had a wonderful day meeting everyone and sharing our mission.

A special thank you to Sophia for selling mulligans, raffle tickets, and accepting donations on our behalf, and to Gary, the Pro, for his help!

We are truly grateful for your generosity and support those we humbly serve.

We've been so busy with different events this Summer that we just realized we have pictures we still haven't posted from our May 31st flight!!

These pictures were taken on the jet bridge at the end of the day as we boarded our plane to return to New Hampshire.

Joe thanks each Veteran for allowing us to serve them for the day, and each Guardian for helping us take care of our nation's most valuable treasures. ❤️🇺🇸❤️

A message from our Founder, Joe Byron...

Yesterday, many members of our Honor Flight New England family gathered together for a few hours.

There was no agenda, no meetings and no work to accomplish.

It was simply an opportunity for us to be together again, between guardian orientations, outreach events, and flights.

While we may have gathered at a stadium for the ballgame, it was not about baseball. It was about the incredible bond that has developed over the years.

We have become a family, built on compassion, friendship, sacrifice, and the unwavering love for our veterans.

Yesterday was about gratitude.

The gratitude that we have for our volunteers who give SO much and expect nothing in return.

Yesterday was about the people that we have met over the years, dedicated, loving people that make Honor Flight New England so special.

Oh yea, the game, food and atmosphere was just a plus in our incredible day.

The Honor Flight New England family lost another Hero recently as Mr. Malcom Smith, United States Army, completed his final mission.

Mr. Smith was one of the rare individuals that we lovingly refer to as a "Trifecta", as he served his country in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. That kind of service and sacrifice is absolutely incredible.

When Mr. Smith. and his son Michael, joined us for his Honor Flight, 26 of his family members joined us at the airport for the Send Off. 26!!!

We soon realized, that's just how the Smiths traveled, together. They joined us at Send Off for many other flights, for many other Heroes, over the years.

At our annual Reunions we always made sure to set aside several tables for the Smiths, as we knew they were all coming.

Mr. Smith was always kind enough to make time at our Reunions to chat with everyone who wanted to thank him for his incredible sacrifices. Many fellow Veterans were always in that line wanting to shake his hand.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Smith family during this tremendous loss.

Please join us in praying for them, and Mr. Smith as he is welcomed into Valhalla.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit us at the Lynn-Swampscot DAV Chapter #64 Beach Party last weekend!

Three Veteran applications were completed on site, and four were taken home to be filled out and sent in. Anytime we can get an Honor Flight application in the hands of a Hero, is a great day for us!

We also met many Veterans and their families, and several wonderful groups who share our mission of honoring our nation's Heroes.

Thank you to Andrea Gayle-Bennett and the DAV Chapter 64 Lynn-Swampscott for the invitation to attend!!
