👑 Coho Queen Applications Are Open! 👑

The National Coho Salmon Festival is now accepting applications for the 2026 Coho Queen Program!

If you're looking for an opportunity to represent the Coho Festival, Honor, and the surrounding community, we'd love to hear from you. The Coho Queen program is a chance to build confidence, develop leadership skills, make lifelong friendships, and be part of a tradition that has been a cornerstone of our community since 1967.

🤝 Coho Queen Committee Volunteers Needed

We're also looking for volunteers to help support our Coho Queen program. Committee members assist with mentoring contestants, organizing appearances and activities, coordinating events, and helping create a positive and memorable experience for all participants.

Whether you're a former queen, a parent, a community supporter, or simply someone who wants to help invest in local youth, we'd love to have you involved.

In 2019, Mindi Jarman would have seemed the last person to one day own the last remaining drive-in movie theater in northern Michigan. She’d never even been to one.

Now she’s the proud owner of the 73-year-old Cherry Bowl drive-in along U.S. 31 in the village of Honor, southwest of Traverse City, and working on plans to restore and update the landmark in her second season of ownership.

Initially, they had to replace some of the poles with lights on top that hold the speakers that hook onto the cars. Beyond that, they did some basic fix-up and clean-up, touch-up painting and bulb replacement, with big projects scheduled for the next few years.

Work involves balancing the retro charm of old equipment while catering to those who want crystal clear sound. Besides the classic speakers, the drive-in offers broadcast sound over FM radio, and rents portable radios for those who want them.

The drive-in opened up last April and is set to stay open until late fall.

Last night of bingo tomorrow first 10 games pays out $250 total. Tomorrow we are adding an extra $100 to the $500 for X bingo and blackout bingo thats $600 with a total of $850 we are giving back and we are also doing a Chinese auction. See you tomorrow!!!

This year’s Coho festival is going all out. We will have performances by the Jack Pine Lumberjacks and a full Carnival. The parade will feature the Scottville Clown Band as well and Pipe and Drum.

👑 The National Coho Salmon Festival is now accepting applications for the 2026 Coho Queen competition!

The event takes place on August 12 at 7:00 PM at the Mills Community House in Benzonia, Michigan. Applicants must be ages 16–20 and secure at least two $25 sponsorships to participate. The 2026 Coho Queen will make her public debut during the National Coho Salmon Festival on Friday, August 21 at 7:00 PM.

After several years away, the legendary Coho Fest Bed Races are officially returning to the National Coho Salmon Festival in Honor, Michigan!

That’s right — decorated race beds, wild costumes, hometown bragging rights, and organized chaos are making a comeback for Coho Fest 2026. Grab your friends, coworkers, family members, fire department crew, business team, or whoever is brave enough to push a bed down the street at full speed.

We’re looking for teams that want to compete, have fun, and help bring back one of the festival’s most unforgettable traditions. Whether you want to go all-out competitive or just build the funniest bed possible, we want you involved.
