The STAMP Program, is a joint volunteer effort between BACN and St. Andrews, Beulah MI. Does your home need repairs you cannot afford? Apply for improvements such as windows, doors, weatherization, decking, ramps and porches. For more information, call BACN at 231-882-9544. Gentle reminder that the application deadline is Wednesday, April 30.

Contact Benzie Senior Resources to learn more about their home delivered meals program—the benefits are more numerous than you might think. ❤️

More than a meal, more than a knock on the door.

What can happen during a simple meal delivery to a homebound senior?

Socialization: Did you know 35-57% of seniors report feeling lonely and socially isolated on a regular basis? Meal delivery offers smiles and conversation.

Client Observation: Drivers are trained to make basic health and overall well-being observations of their meal clients. Is the overall demeanor, grooming and appearance what they have come to expect from that client?

Living Quarters Observation: Drivers bringing meals into homes are positioned to make quick safety observations. Is the home warm enough? Is the regrigerator in working order? Are there tripping hazards such as sliding throw rugs or extension cords?

Active Listening: Through a casual conversation, volunteers can learn of needed household repairs, medical concerns, worry over utility bills or any number of other issues. This information allows Benzie Senior Resources to connect the client to resources that can help.

Isn’t she a beauty? This is our newest HDM delivery vehicle, being measured at Pro Image Design for window stenciling. We’ll be advertising Home Delivered Meals on the side windows, plus on the back will thank those who helped us make this purchase: Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, Benzie County Community Chest, Cherryland Electric Cooperative and a Private Donor. We’ll share another pic when it’s all done! Our thanks also to Watson Benzie for making us the very best deal on the van.
