Do you know how Mills Community House got its name?

In January 1909, East Hall, the original building in this location, was destroyed by a fire. Fortunately, there were no injuries. The Mills Cottage, a distinctive red brick building, was built as a replacement, re-opening in October, It was named for the Rev. Harlow S. Mills (pictured here), who led the local Congregationalist congregation from 1896 to 1916 and made substantial contributions to the construction of the building in honor of his late wife.

100 Women Who Care - Benzie County meet at Mills Community House on April 29th and voted to award their spring gift to Thompsonville Area Revitalization Project. Congratulations, TARP!

This past winter and spring, Mills Community House hosted a series of contra dances. Organized by Llama Meadows Eco Farm, these dances were part of the Benzonia Area Community Emergency Fund fundraiser series.

Thank you so much to the community who showed up and made it a success and to the volunteers who made this all possible.

Join us for a community sound bath to experience the soothing vibrations of crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, gong, chimes, and more as we journey into relaxation.
