With Valentine’s Day coming up I just wanted to reach out. It can be a beautiful day.
But for some… it can be one of the hardest days of the year.

Not everyone is celebrating.
Some are grieving.
Some feel alone in a room full of people.
Some are fighting battles they don’t talk about.

I see Holidays a little differently. I know how quiet pain can be. I know how much someone can be hurting without anyone realizing it.

So today, I’m asking you — please check on your friends.
Check on your family.

Be kind. Always.
You truly never know what someone is carrying behind their smile.
A simple text.
A phone call.
A “Hey, I’m thinking about you.” “What have you been up too” “ I just wanted to say Hi”

That small moment could mean everything to someone who is struggling. Not just holidays anyday.

Please reach out.
Call or text 988. There is always someone there to listen.

Eight years ago this morning, our family’s lives changed forever. We woke up to the devastating news that my son, DJ, had taken his own life late the night before.

It has taken me years to reach a place where I could even begin to process this loss. Grief is not a straight line, and healing does not have a timeline. In September 2025, I finally felt mentally strong enough to take a step I had long hoped for, starting a 501(c)(3) for su***de awareness.

I’m sharing this because I want people to know this: you are not alone. No matter how heavy things feel, there is always someone out there who will listen, who will care, and who wants to help.

Please reach out. Please talk to someone. If you or someone you love is struggling, you can call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Help is available, and your life matters.

I’ve been a little quiet lately while helping with some family things. Life has a way of pulling us where we’re needed most.

I’ve also been working behind the scenes on a fundraiser for the new year, something that’s close to my heart.

This season can be especially hard for many families. Please take a moment to reach out, check in, and let the people in your life know they’re not alone. Sometimes a simple “I’m thinking of you” can make all the difference.

I’m sorry in the delay and getting back with people with orders for shirts and sweatshirts. They are all done. I just need to get them delivered out so I will be reaching out to everybody in the next couple days.

We have had some family things that have came up that have been hard on our family and I’m just getting back in the swing of things so again I am sorry for the delay and I will be reaching out to everyone. Have a great day.

I just wanted to take a min to let everyone know that I have not forgot about getting the shirts done that were ordered at walk. I also have all others done. Our family has been going through some very tough and sad times in the last 2 weeks. I will get these done this weekend hopefully.

Tomorrow is the day. 1st Annual Su***de Awareness walk in Frankfort.

All proceeds will stay in Benzie County.
