Meet the team behind the Apprenticeship College of Health! ☕️🤝

Last week, functional and executive leaders from Reach University and the Healthcare Training Fund convened in Seattle, Washington, to further advance the Apprenticeship College of Health (ACH).

The teams spent time developing a shared vision for the next phase of growth and expansion, setting priorities and strengthening the collaboration needed to build practical pathways into behavioral health careers in Washington state and beyond.

Last week's work reinforced a defining principle of ACH: lasting innovation is built through strong partnerships, shared purpose, and the discipline to build together.

The proposed New Amalga Gold Mine has been placed on the federal FAST-41 permitting list, creating an expedited timeline for the environmental review process. While this designation doesn't guarantee approval, it does raise important questions about whether communities, Tribes, and scientists will have the time needed to fully understand the project's potential impacts.

As SEACC Mining Campaigner Stacy Unzicker told KTOO:

"It feels like the rubber-stamping of less rigorous permitting to just get these things built. Shouldn't we slow things down and really make sure we have good baseline data? That we're making decisions that we're not going to regret later?"

The Tongass and the waters that sustain our communities deserve a thorough, transparent review grounded in science—not an accelerated process that leaves unanswered questions behind.
