First Fridays are always a monthly highlight for Homer. 🎨🎭

If you aren't at HarborFest or need something else to do in town this weekend, there are plenty of First Friday events to keep your evening busy. Explore galleries and special exhibits, meet the artists, and enjoy June's First Friday in Homer.

Youth-Only Fishing Days are coming up! 🎣

• June 3 – Ninilchik River
ADF&G staff on-site 9 AM–12 PM with loaner rods available.

• June 6 – Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon, Homer Spit
ADF&G staff on-site 11 AM–2 PM with loaner rods available.

These youth-only fishing days are a great chance for young anglers to get out on the water, learn from ADF&G staff, and try their luck fishing! Loaner rods available first come, first served.

📣 This community welcome event is designed to help seasonal workers get connected and feel at home in Homer. Workers from across Alaska, the Lower 48, and around the world are invited to stop by for helpful local information, community resources, and a chance to meet others working in the area this season.

Representatives and businesses will be available to share information about topics such as cell phone coverage, banking, healthcare services, local recreation, and navigating the Homer area. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

We’re excited to welcome seasonal workers to our community and help make their summer in Homer a great one.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

We owe gratitude to many who have gone before us over the last 250 years, sacrificing for the freedoms and country we enjoy.

The Homer Chamber and Visitor Center will be open normal hours today. We look forward to seeing you and chatting with many of our visitors in town for the Holiday weekend.

Starting Today! We are excited for our Visitor Center to be open on Saturdays for the summer. Stop in or send visitors our way for information, recommendations, and all things Homer. 🌊

Open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm year round. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, we will be open Saturdays from 10am-4pm.

Taste of Homer Update 🍽️

We’re excited to share an important update for Taste of Homer 2026.

Although the event has been held in late May for the last few years, this year’s event is being thoughtfully moved to the fall, with tentative dates of August 29 – September 7, 2026.

This shift allows us to better celebrate what makes Homer’s culinary scene so special — our local growers, seasonal ingredients, talented chefs, food producers, and the authentic flavors of our community. By moving Taste of Homer later in the season, we hope to create a richer, more locally rooted experience while also shining a spotlight on Homer’s vibrant end-of-season atmosphere.

Taste of Homer will continue to feature a week of restaurant specials, culinary experiences, and unique food events that showcase the incredible creativity and flavor of Homer’s food scene. (Also, be on the lookout for a culinary showcase at Homer HarborFest on June 6th!)

We look forward to sharing more details in the coming months and inviting everyone to experience a more authentic Taste of Homer this fall.
