Oakland County Veterans Resource Fair - Aug. 28, Waterford Township
Veterans, active-duty service members, Guard and Reserve members and their families are invited to attend the Oakland County Veteran Resource Fair on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at 2100 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford Township, MI 48328.
This annual event brings together local, state and federal organizations to provide veterans and their families with direct access to valuable resources, benefits information and support services.
New this year: Attendees are encouraged to sign up for a timed entry slot. This change is designed to reduce wait times and congestion while ensuring every veteran has the opportunity to connect with representatives and access the resources available.
Representatives will be available to assist with:
Oakland County Health Department – Providing adult vaccines for insured and uninsured individuals. Those with insurance should bring their health insurance card.
Oakland County Veterans’ Services – Offering information and claims assistance related to veterans benefits. Eligible Oakland County veterans may also receive Meijer gift cards (veterans must present a DD-214 and proof of Oakland County residency).
Oakland County Michigan Works! – Providing career planning, employment resources, training opportunities, and access to employment specialists.
Oakland County Neighborhood & Housing Development – Offering housing counseling and support.
Oakland Community Health Network – Providing behavioral health resources and support for veterans, families, and children.
Oakland Thrive – Sharing information about entrepreneurial workshops and opportunities.
VA Great Lakes National Cemetery – Providing information about VA burial benefits.
VA Su***de Prevention – Offering free gun locks and su***de prevention resources.
Ride SMART – Providing information about veteran transportation programs.
DTE Energy – Offering assistance and resources related to utility needs.
This event is an opportunity for veterans and their families to learn about programs, connect with service providers and access the benefits and resources available to them.
