Annual Banquet
Our biggest fundraiser of the year is only 2 months away and will take place on September 9,2026, from 7-9:30 pm. The festivities will be held outside in the pavilion, behind the American Legion Hall.

The tickets will be $65 this year and will be available to purchase several different ways.

1) At the bottom of our homepage (eastjerseytu.org) there is a donate button which will take you to PAYPAL where you can enter your information and buy a ticket.

2) You can also send a check to our PO Box, address below, and buy a ticket that way.

We need to have all the tickets purchased by August 31st so we can give the caterer our final quantity.

With the purchase of each ticket you will receive one sheet of 26 tickets to be used for the over 40 bucket raffles. These raffles will feature fishing equipment,gift baskets,restaurant gift certificates, jewelry, artwork and handmade crafts. There will also a basket with lottery tickets which may make you a big winner. Additional ticket sheets will be available to purchase for $20 at the dinner.

We will also have some fantastic live auctions for rods,reels, a guide trip on the South Branch of the Raritan River for 2, a weekend at the Dream Catcher Resort in Deposit NY, a Renzetti travel vice and more. The pièce de résistance is a beautifully framed Atherton dry flies tied by Catskill Legend Tom Mason.

Since we still have some time before the dinner we are still accepting donations which can be brought to our monthly membership meeting, or we can arrange a convenient place to meet.

Thank you for all your generosity.

Our menu this year will be an Italian Buffet. It will have antipasto, salad, and 5 different main courses. B**r, w**e and soft drinks are included in the ticket price.

Scott Fisher - Catskill Flies: The History of American Dry Fly

Scott Fisher is a native of New Jersey. He has had a passion for
fly tying for almost 15 years, and has been fly fishing for nearly
20 years. Growing up two hours from the famous Catskill wa-
ters, he is inspired by the works of Art Flick, Al Caucci, Theodore
Gordon, the Dettes, and many other legendary fly tyers from
the early days of American dry fly fishing. He focuses on pre-
serving the heart of these historic Catskill patterns while occa-
sionally integrating modern materials to aid in performance.
Scott is a Pro Tyer for J. Stockard, a NJ guide for South Branch
Outfitters, a member of the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild, a TU mem-
ber of the Hacklebarney Chapter, and has done tying demon-
strations at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum. He was a commercial fly tyer for several years,
selling his flies all over the country. He is also a fly tying instructor through his TU chapter, and a demon-
stration tyer at the Fly Fishing Show, International Fly Tying Symposium and more.
He enjoys fishing NJ, PA, and NY waters for wild trout, and loves seeing a fish rise to classic Catskill dry
flies which continue to stand the test of time. If you want to learn about the history of these classic flies
and how to fish them, then don’t miss this meeting.

This past Friday, EJTU members spent the day on the Dark Horse party boat out of Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Lots of fun was had and lots of fish were caught! Thanks to Brian for planning a great day!
