We hope everyone in NJ is staying cozy & warm today during this snow! We wanted to share news that will definitely warm your hearts. Many of our followers watched the story of our Hug-a-Bunny Yeko unfold over many months. We took him in knowing he had major dental issues hoping we could help him, through multiple surgeries over many months, his teeth (like all rabbit teeth) were determined to grow back. We luckily had the amazing organization FOCAS also committed to helping Yeko, and they stuck by him and us the whole time. Finally, after many surgeries and recoveries, we got to a point where Yeko was finally toothless and adoptable and then we had to look for a family who could look beyond his past and look towards his future. Enter amazing Stacey who had adopted amazing Buddy from us 7 years before. The Cicero family gave Buddy the most beautiful life and were finally ready to open up their home again after losing him. Crazy enough I had always thought Yeko had the same unique essence as Buddy and seemed like the perfect fit. Almost exactly 7 years to the day, Yeko entered their home and became Milo. Since that day, his family has cherished him- they have cut up his hay/veggies and have cuddled daily. Let these photos be proof of the happiest life. Through the many months of uncertainty and surgeries, many people would ask me if it was worth it- the heartache, unknown, helping him get through recoveries. We never wavered- of course if he was willing to fight, we would be there alongside him. So many countless moments we can’t ever document (more to come) but let these photos be proof that his life mattered. This is one reason why we currently keep our rescue small so that we can devote ourselves fully to those in our care. I’m proud of us for never giving up, grateful for the Cicero family for opening up their home, but most of all proud of Milo who never gave up his spirit. He never lost the special spark that made him perfectly himself. Milo will always be one of our biggest success stories. Let us offer a happy “Gotcha Day” and formal congratulations on Milo’s “forever home” where we know he is loved and cherished beyond measure. Every life matters. 💗
