⏰ Last chance to become a Pitch for Purpose mentor!

We’re still looking for local business professionals who are ready to share their experience and help TEEEM students bring their ideas to life.

Starting in November, mentors will spend just one hour per month for three months guiding students as they develop business plans, think through budgets and marketing, strengthen their pitches, and navigate challenges along the way.

A small investment of your time can give a student access to real-world experience, encouragement, and a perspective they wouldn’t otherwise have.

The deadline to get involved is October 20!

🌎 Global Impact Spotlight: Lakota Nation 🇺🇸

On the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, our partner organization, One Spirit, is working to strengthen communities, preserve Lakota culture, and create opportunities for future generations.

Through essential services, youth development programs, and employment initiatives, One Spirit is helping Lakota families meet everyday needs while building pathways toward long-term economic independence and self-sufficiency.

Our TEEEM students are proud to support these efforts! Students from Ho-Ho-Kus Middle School, Tappan Zee High School, and The Wardlaw+Hartridge School organized clothing drives, collectively gathering thousands of jackets, sweaters, and other warm clothing items to support Lakota families.

These acts of generosity remind us that making a difference doesn't always require a traditional fundraiser. Sometimes, it starts with recognizing a need, bringing a community together, and taking action.

We're grateful for our partnership with One Spirit and the opportunity to support its ongoing work with the Lakota community.

Sometimes the impact of student fundraising shows up in ways that might seem simple at first but mean so much more to the communities we work alongside. ⚽💛

Thanks to the fundraising efforts of TEEEM students last school year, our partners at GRACE in Kenya were able to purchase new soccer uniforms for their students. Many schools in the region simply don’t have the resources to provide this.

And the impact doesn’t stop with one school. GRACE shares the uniforms with surrounding schools that don’t have their own, allowing even more students to experience the excitement and pride of taking the field as a team.

One student-led effort. Multiple schools. An impact that keeps growing. 🌍

We’re so proud of our TEEEM students for helping make moments like these possible and grateful to our partners at GRACE for finding ways to extend that impact throughout their community.

The impact of TEEEM isn’t only found in the projects students complete or the presentations they deliver. It’s also found in the growth that happens along the way.

Carlos Perez, a teacher and TEEEM advisor at West Orange High School, has had a front-row seat to that growth. Over the past two years, he has watched his students build confidence, strengthen their leadership skills, and grow into compassionate young people ready to take on new challenges.

We’re grateful for educators like Carlos who encourage their students, celebrate their successes, and help create opportunities for them to discover just how much they’re capable of.

Thank you, Carlos, for being part of the TEEEM community and for everything you do to support the next generation of changemakers!

TEEEM was featured in Millburn & Short Hills Magazine for our students’ recent journey to Kenya! 🇰🇪🌍

This summer, TEEEM students traveled to Kisii, Kenya, where they spent time with our partners at The GRACE Project and experienced firsthand the impact of education, collaboration, and global service.

Throughout the trip, students connected with GRACE students and staff, led coding and literacy activities, visited scholarship students and their families, explored ongoing projects across the site, and learned more about the programs creating opportunities for the local community.

As student Ayden reflected in the article, “We brought robotics to Kenya thinking we were going there to teach, but we also saw how quickly students could take an unfamiliar idea and make it their own when they were just given the opportunity.”

We’re grateful to Millburn & Short Hills Magazine for sharing this experience and highlighting the students, partners, and connections that made the trip so meaningful.

Across our TEEEM community and around the world, educators play an essential role in helping students grow into thoughtful, empathetic leaders. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom, shaping how students understand themselves, their communities, and the world around them.

On World Teachers’ Day, we extend our gratitude to the educators who show up every day with patience, dedication, and a belief in what their students can accomplish.

📣 Calling local business professionals: TEEEM students need your expertise!

This fall, our students are taking their ideas from concept to pitch through Pitch for Purpose, and we’re looking for mentors to help guide them along the way.

With just three hours of your time across three months, you’ll meet with students once a month from November through January as they develop their business plans. Mentors will offer guidance on budgeting, marketing, promotion, and pitching while providing constructive feedback and helping students work through challenges.

Whether you’re currently working or post-career, this is an opportunity to share what you’ve learned, give back, and invest in the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs. 💛
