SESSION ONE: COMPLETE! 🎉 What an incredible couple weeks of Full STEAM Ahead Summer Camp.

Campers put their engineering skills to the ultimate test, building cardboard boats to find out if they would sink or float 🛥️ Then they took their skills straight to the water, paddle boating, kayaking, canoeing, and having a blast doing it! They showed off everything they created throughout the session, from science experiments 🧪 to art projects 🎨 to hands-on nature discoveries 🐟, proud of every bit of it.

We are so grateful for each and every camper who joined us for Session 1. Watching them build, test, create, and grow all session long has been the best part of our summer. 💜

It’s bittersweet to see Session 1 come to an end, but we couldn’t be more excited to kick off Session 2 next week!

This past week our campers dove into hands-on science experiments 🧪, tackled an engineering challenge designing foil boats 🛥️, explored their creative side at the art table 🎨, got up close with slugs 🐌, and burned off plenty of energy during outdoor field games ⚽️.

Beyond the activities, we’ve loved watching new friendships form, from field trip bus rides to campers cheering each other on all week long. Our counselors have worked hard to make sure every camper felt welcomed, supported, and excited to come back the next day.

Thank you to all our camp families for trusting us with your kids this week.

Last week our leaders went through the summer camp lessons and activities before our campers join us on July 6th. They were able to connect with one another, lead activities, and create models for the kids to see throughout camp.

Saturday we marched. 🤍

Today, on Memorial Day, we are still feeling it. The Chicago Memorial Day Parade brought together veterans, families, kids, and community from all walks of life and we were proud to march alongside our friends at National Veterans Art Museum. The posters, the poppy flowers, the faces, the stories. All of it moved through the heart of Chicago and we carry it with us today and every day.

If you were there, we are so glad you found us. If you missed it, we will see you next year.

From friendly games and kids running free, to cookout favorites, face painting, pie to the face, and group photos that captured it all, the smiles said everything.

Kids Rank is inviting military-connected families to help shape our HOME Campaign by submitting a creative design inspired by what HOME means to you. Whether HOME is a place, a feeling, a tradition, or the people around you, we want to see your vision brought to life.

Submission Requirements:
🖍 Design must be created on an 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper
📝 Include a short story about what HOME means to you
🎖 Artist must be part of a military family (Kids Rank membership not required)

📅 Submissions Due: June 26, 2026

⚓🌊 What does STEAM Summer Camp provide for military-connected children?

At Kids Rank, Full STEAM Ahead Summer Camp creates a safe and welcoming environment where children can build friendships, explore new interests, gain confidence, and experience hands-on learning through science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

Military-connected children often experience frequent transitions and change. Programs like Full STEAM Ahead help create stability, connection, creativity, and a stronger sense of HOME through community-centered learning experiences.

📅 Session 1: July 6–17, 2026
📅 Session 2: July 20–31, 2026
⏰ Monday–Friday | 10 AM–3 PM
🎒 Grades 3rd–8th
