Professor Hussainmiya, Ph.D. | TASMiNA Interview series

Professor B. A. Hussainmiya, Ph.D. from Sri Lanka, a well-known author and a historian of Asia, who has written extensively on Brunei Darussalam (and hence decorated by the Brunei Sultan) and Sri Lanka Muslim Malays, is currently serving as a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence in the Religious Studies Department at FIU. He has been in academia for the last 50 years having served in international Universities in Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Malaysia, Brunei and United States. He had been an active Islamic social worker and led important youth organizations in Sri Lanka in the 90s including the Young Men’s Muslim Association of Sri Lanka (YMMA)and the Federation of Muslim Youth Organizations in Sri Lanka (FAMYS).
