Today, we honor the men who answered two of life’s greatest callings: Father and Veteran.
Many fathers have made the courageous decision to serve our nation in order to protect their families and preserve the freedoms we hold dear. They left behind the comfort of home, missed birthdays and holidays, and stood watch in places far from those they loved—all so future generations could live in peace.
Fatherhood and military service share many of the same values: sacrifice, dedication, courage, honor, and an unwavering commitment to something greater than oneself.
On this Father’s Day, we remember those fathers who have passed and honor the legacy they left behind. We celebrate those who are still with us, whose guidance, wisdom, and love continue to shape our families and communities.
To all fathers who have served in uniform, and to all veterans who have embraced the role of fatherhood, thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your example.
To the strongest friend many of us will ever know—to our Fathers.
Happy Father’s Day from all of us at VFW Post 2924, the All-American Post of the High Desert.
