Hi everyone! As some of you know I have been working on starting a Tested Service Dog Registry and at this point in the process I am looking for feedback in a few areas from the general public. If you have a few minutes to answer these questions, it would help me in making a plan to best serve SD handlers and the community.
What is your definition of a "good" service dog?
How do YOU know when you see a legitimate service dog?
How can you tell when you encounter what you perceive as a "fake" service dog?
Should Service Dog Handlers be required to carry some form of ID or have access to the information to be checked, upon request?
What is the easiest and quickest way to offer Service Dog Identification? Tag, Card, Certificate, Vest, Phone App, etc?
What are 3 criteria that you think a Service Dog should meet in order to be considered "Tested and Certified"? (Please be as detailed as you want)
What is one thing that could be done to make Service Dog access less complicated?
*Business Owners and Management Teams only, please:
Would you or your employees benefit from having a Voluntary Tested Registry for Service Dogs?
Would you use the Registry information if it was available?
Service Dog Handlers only, please:
Would you like the opportunity to register your Service Dog in a Tested Registry?
Would you be comfortable verbally and condifentally disclosing some medical information to a Tester for consideration during your testing?
