Connecting with communities across Tennessee is at the heart of what we do.

Yesterday, Blair and Kila had the opportunity to attend the Lawrence County Celebrate Life event at Leoma Baptist Church, where they shared an update on the impact DCO has made in local schools over the past year and connected with community members at our resource table.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these to share our mission, build partnerships, and continue empowering the next generation with truth and hope.

Before you scroll, schedule your next family meal. 🍽️

One of the simplest ways to strengthen your relationship with your child is by sitting down together for just 30 minutes, 2–3 times a week. Regular family meals are linked to stronger connectedness, better mental health, and lower engagement in risky behaviors.

Not sure how to get the conversation started? Try asking:
✨ If you could be famous for anything, what would it be?
✨ If you could impersonate anyone for one day, who would it be?
✨ What’s something that made you laugh today?
✨ Was there anything said at school you want to ask me about?

The goal isn’t a perfect conversation it’s creating a space where your child knows they’re seen, heard, and valued.
Save this reel for your next family dinner and share it with another parent who could use an easy conversation starter!

Make This Summer Matter with Designed for More!

Summer gives families something we don’t always have during the school year…time! Time for conversations, connection, and slowing down enough to talk about what really matters.

That’s why we created Designed for More, a video-based curriculum designed to help parents and teens engage in meaningful conversations about God’s design for life, relationships, and purpose.

If you’re looking for simple, guided ways to connect with your teen this summer, we’d love for you to take a look.

👉 Click the link in our bio to preview the curriculum and see how you can use it at home this summer.

Yesterday, our Executive Director, Alexa Follas, had the opportunity to join Dr. Joe Malone on his podcast.

Dr. Malone is a researcher, author, speaker, and founder of S*x IQ who has spent decades educating and equipping individuals, families, and communities through his work in sexual integrity and wellness.

We are always grateful for opportunities to share about DCO’s mission, connect with like-minded leaders, and be part of important conversations impacting students, parents, and communities.

Thank you, Dr. Malone, for the invitation and for the work you do to educate, encourage, and inspire others. We enjoyed the conversation and look forward to sharing more soon!

One of the most important parts of our programs is making sure students don’t just hear information for “someday” they learn tools, skills, and truths they can apply right where they are right now.

From friendships and relationships to social media, goal setting, and everyday decision-making, we want every lesson to feel real, relevant, and meaningful to students’ lives today.

Summer may look quieter in the classroom… but behind the scenes, our team is hard at work. ☀️📚

This week at our End-of-Year Staff Training, we spent time walking through every program, updating slides, and reviewing lessons. This summer we will make sure every statistic, study, and piece of data we share is current, accurate, and relevant for the students we’ll serve next year.

At DCO, we don’t “pause” during the summer we prepare. Because the next generation deserves excellence, truth, and programs that continue to meet the needs of today’s students.

So grateful for a team that works tirelessly to grow, improve, and stay equipped to impact schools and communities across Tennessee and Alabama.

Celebrating 15 years of faithful service from our incredible Program Director, Beth Cox! 🎉

Beth’s leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to students have helped shape DCO into what it is today. Under her leadership, DCO has expanded from serving 5 counties to 15 counties across Tennessee and Alabama, reaching more than 100,000 students with life-changing programs and truth-filled education.

Beth leads our programs with excellence, training staff and partners, strengthening curriculum, and ensuring everything we teach meets state and wellness standards. Beyond DCO, she has faithfully served as a former Sumner County School Board member, been recognized as one of the county’s most influential leaders, co-authored Intentional Marriage with her husband Todd, and spent more than 25 years mentoring women and couples.

Most importantly, Beth’s heart for students and passion for helping the next generation thrive have impacted countless lives. We are beyond grateful for her faithful leadership and the legacy she continues to build every single day.

Help us celebrate Beth in the comments below! 👏

You may not realize it, but one of the most powerful ways you can support DCO is simply by making a connection. 🤝

Whether it’s introducing us to a church, school, business leader, parent group, conference, or community organization, those connections create opportunities for us to equip more students and families with truth, hope, and life-giving tools.

You never know what door one introduction could open.

If you know of a group, event, or organization where DCO could speak, teach, network, or partner… we would love to connect.

Send us a DM or tag someone below who should know about DCO!

Strong leaders build strong relationships.

We loved spending time with the Jr. Marine Corps ROTC at HHS as they learned how to recognize the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships. From communication and respect to boundaries and decision-making, these conversations are equipping students with tools that will impact every area of their future.

Thankful for the opportunity to invest in the next generation of leaders!
