Our brother Austin Running Crane and his family are going through an extremely difficult time. Austin's oldest son, Rustin Roy Running Crane, has been at Seattle Children's Hospital since March 12, 2026, after being diagnosed with acute T-cell leukemia.
The diagnosis was a devastating shock to the family. Their situation became even more critical when the leukemia caused a brain hemorrhage, requiring emergency surgery in Kalispell, MT to remove a portion of his skull. Rustin was then airlifted to Seattle for specialized care.
Being so far from home has made this journey even harder. Mounting travel expenses and the uncertainty of when they can return have added to the daily challenges the family faces.
They would be deeply grateful for any prayers or financial support to aid in Rustin's recovery. Your kindness and generosity will help keep the family together as they stand by his side while he fights to get better.
Thank you so much for considering supporting our brother Austin and his family during this incredibly difficult time.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Laborers Local 1686 wants to remind every member: your mental health matters. Just like any other muscle in your body, your brain needs care, rest, and attention to stay strong.

Long hours, tough jobs, and daily stress can take a toll—but you don’t have to carry it alone. Take time to check in with yourself and with your brothers and sisters on the job. A simple conversation can make a difference.

Stay strong. Stay connected. Take care of your mind like you take care of your craft.

May Day is rooted in history and sacrifice, but more than anything, it is about power. The Power We build when we stand together.

This movement was born in the United States, on the streets of Chicago at Haymarket Square in 1886. Workers demanded something simple but life-changing: an eight-hour day. They faced violence, intimidation, and uncertainty, but they stood strong together and changed the future for the generations that followed.

That same spirit lives on today.

Happy May Day! Keep the power of solidarity alive today.
