Three days in Missoula. One stronger Association. 🏔️
Along with our strategic planning session, MontanaBIA's Fall Business Meetings included our Local Executive Officers Council, GRIP Board of Directors, a PWB learning session, BUILD-PAC lunch, committee meetings, an evening reception and dinner, and our full Board of Directors meeting on Friday. Here are a few highlights:
🏛️ We presented our Let Montana Build bill package for the 2027 legislative session. Thank you, Adrianne and Ashley, for leading the discussion! Session starts in just over two months, and this time, we're on offense.
🦺 Our GRIP Safety Program Board of Directors met to review this year's progress and plan next year's calendar. That evening, we welcomed Montana State Fund to celebrate 30 years of building a safer Montana together.
MSF shared that GRIP saved our members $1.46 million this past year through dividends and retro returns, with more than $7 million in retro returns alone over 30 years. Thank you, Monty, for leading the way!
👷♀️ We welcomed our Professional Women in Building chapters from across the state, along with the NAWIC Missoula Chapter, Nicole Bishop of Terry Homes, and Mrs. America Qadra Evans, one of our own members from the Flathead. On a motion by NAHB State Representative Kim Chambers, the board created a statewide PWB Committee, chaired by Rocheal Gaston.
🍽️ At dinner, we got to connect, catch up, and hear from Life Director Rich Sargent, our partners in safety at Montana State Fund, and UM Missoula College construction management program students, who shared about their program and their excitement to work alongside our members in the years ahead.
Thank you to the Missoula BIA, the Edgewater, First Interstate Bank, Stockman Bank and Insurance, Direct Source, Abatement Contractors of Montana, Title One, and to our team for a great week.
Next up: the Montana BIA Legislative Summit in Helena, Nov 18. See you there!
