After just over a month of fundraising, a Helena group has raised more than $15,000 to help tackle meal debt in Helena Public Schools.

Today was the day the 5 ScareLadies have been waiting for. We presented PreK-5 Assistant Superintendent Justine Albert’s and 6-12+ Assistant Superintendent Josh McKay with a check for $15,000 to pay the meal debt for all graduating seniors at PAL, CHS and HHS!!! Remaining funds will be applied to juniors with meal debt.

This simply could not have happened without the tremendously generous contributions from the public. From the $2 donation from a little girl at Farmer’s Market to the more than one $1000 donation, we were able to make an impact in less than four months.

Watch this page for what’s in the works as we move on to “scare away” more meal debt. As we know “Those ScareLadies are everywhere!”
