This radical change in the Vice President's stance on fracking begs the question—as she campaigns for the US Presidency, will she continue to stand with Biden when it comes to the burdensome regulations on federal oil and gas leases, the LNG export ban, or Biden's EV mandates that essentially ban gas-powered vehicles? Will she take a more sensible, main-stream approach? Or is this just the same election-time posturing that we have all come to expect?

Not only does Montana lack the infrastructure that would allow EV's to be a feasible option in our very rural state, but with the current strain on our electric transmission and production resources, an EV mandate like the one proposed by the Biden Administration would have devastating consequences for Montana's energy future. Not to mention the fact that the would make our nation even more reliant on adversarial foreign nations.

The rule is the strictest federal climate regulation ever for passenger cars and trucks.

Court requires Governor & Secretary of State to move forward with SB 442 override vote.

The Montana Supreme Court's denial of the state's request to pause the emissions analysis requirement in the Held v. Montana youth climate lawsuit until the Court has an opportunity to consider the appeal adds unnecessary uncertainty to the permitting process for Montana's natural resource developers and energy producers. Many have already invested significant time and financial resources into applying for permits, only to have the requirements change. Implementing a stay until the Court could review the appeal would have provided more predictability for those seeking permits and allowed DEQ more time to determine a sustainable, science-based, long term solution.

The order is the latest milestone in the Held v. Montana lawsuit before the state’s highest court.
