Last month, HCFS received 100 pounds of coffee beans from Feed My People.

A special shout-out to our friends at Midwest Roasters, who generously ground the beans so we could repackage the coffee and distribute it to our clients.

We are so grateful for the generosity and support of our community partners!

F4K is a year round “backpack” program that provides weekend meals to participating children who attend Hayward Public Schools, LCO Schools, Northern Lights Christian Academy or St. Francis Mission School. During the school year, weekend meals are provided on Fridays to the children at school.

HCFS would like to extend our sincere thanks to LaNell McGuire for coordinating with Morgarosa Farm to make sure nearly 4,000 pounds of fresh, nutritious produce made its way to the Hayward Community Food Shelf this growing season!

This incredible gift would not have been possible without our dedicated volunteers, who faithfully showed up weekend after weekend to harvest, pick up, unload, sort, and prepare the produce so our clients could enjoy fresh vegetables and fruit on their food shelf visits.

We are so grateful for the teamwork, generosity, and commitment that made this season such a success.

Thank you to Lakeside Gourmet for donating a pallet of pepper jam to the Hayward Community Food Shelf!

Though it has a jelly-like consistency from a manufacturing error, it still tastes delicious.

Try it on toast, with cream cheese and crackers, in sandwiches, or as a glaze on chicken.

We’re grateful for this generous donation and the difference it makes for local families.
