Did you know that approximately 61% of bisexual women experience r**e, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime?

In honor of Pride Month, our latest blog explores how harmful stereotypes, biphobia, fetishization, and invisibility can increase vulnerability to abuse – and why bisexual survivors must be included in conversations about prevention, research, and support.

Options was proud to join Hays Pride at Pride in the Park this weekend! 🌈
Our team hosted Chalk About Pride, inviting community members to share messages of love, hope, acceptance, and pride. It was wonderful to see so much creativity and joy on display.

As we celebrate Pride, it’s also important to recognize that LGBTQ+ individuals experience disproportionately higher rates of intimate partner violence and sexual assault. Everyone deserves safe, healthy relationships and a community that supports them.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table and helped us fill the sidewalks with colorful reminders that every person deserves to be seen, valued, and celebrated. 💜

“When we look at substance use through a trauma-informed lens, we often see far more than addiction – we see someone trying to survive.”
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re examining the complex relationship between coercive control, abuse, trauma, and substance dependence. Survivors deserve understanding, not judgment.

This afternoon we celebrated an incredible group of seniors who have helped shape the heart of our Student Advisory Board.

Erin, Keeley, Bryson, Kamryn, Jude, Gracie, and Johanna - thank you for the time, compassion, courage, and leadership you brought to this work. Your voices have made a difference in your schools, your communities, and in the lives of the people around you.

Advocacy takes strength. Leadership takes heart. Each of you stepped up to create change, spark important conversations, and help build a safer, more compassionate future. We are endlessly proud of the leaders you already are, and even more excited to see the impact you’ll continue to make in the world.

While we’ll miss you dearly, we know this is only the beginning. The future is brighter because of students like you. Congratulations, seniors - and thank you for leading the next generation of change. 💜🎓options
