The first-ever Battle of the Bierock was held at Oktoberfest this year, thanks to the support of Lewis Toyota. Five vendors competed in this new tradition, with their bierocks carefully judged on TASTE (texture, appearance, smell, taste, and ease of eating).

We are proud to announce the results:
• Third Place – Hays Lions Club
• Second Place – Sigma Phi Epsilon
• First Place – Mama G’s

We know you all have your favorites, but our judges worked hard and took a lot of time with their evaluations. 😉

Congratulations to Mama G’s on taking home the top honor, and thank you to all of our vendors and judges for making the inaugural Battle of the Bierock such a memorable part of Oktoberfest.

Come on down to Oktoberfest - Day 2! We have lots of great activities for families today, as well as fantastic food and treats! At the Headquarters tent you will find our annual Oktoberfest mug and a variety of fun t-shirts, including an adorable t-shirt just for kids. Food vouchers are also available for purchase. Can’t wait to see you today! 🍗🥨🍦🌮🌭🍺

The OktoberFEAST Contest was a blast! Teams of two raced to finish a hearty German dish and a stein of beer as quickly as possible. One team member was blindfolded and did the feeding, which made for plenty of laughs and messy moments. It was fast, fun, and full of good cheer. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all the teams who joined in on the fun! 🍽️🤣

The Deutsch Hops Contest brought out speed, balance, and plenty of laughs! Participants carried a stein of beer through an “obstacle” course, racing to be the fastest without spilling. A fun tradition and a crowd favorite every year. 🏃‍♀️🍺
