Cover 6 Outdoors – Bayou Edition is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for two veterans to experience world-class trout fishing on the legendary White River in Flippin, Arkansas.

This multi-day adventure will take place July 16–19, 2026, and offers veterans the chance to relax, reconnect, and enjoy the healing power of the outdoors while fishing one of the most renowned trout fisheries in the country.

🚐 Transportation: Provided by Cover 6 Outdoors from the Shreveport/Bossier area
🎣 Participants: 2 Veterans

Thursday, July 16, 2026
Depart Shreveport/Bossier in the morning
Travel to Flippin, Arkansas
Check in at White Hole Resort
Friday, July 17, 2026
Fish the White River on your own and enjoy the resort's river access
Saturday, July 18, 2026
Full-day guided trout fishing trip with professional guides
Sunday, July 19, 2026
Return travel to Shreveport/Bossier

Eligibility
This opportunity is open to veterans who have not previously participated in a Cover 6 Outdoors – Bayou Edition fishing event and have completed a veteran application through our website.

Priority will be given to first-time participants as part of our commitment to reaching as many veterans as possible through outdoor-based peer-support experiences.

Participant Responsibilities
Arkansas Fishing License
Arkansas Trout Permit/Stamp
Appropriate clothing and personal items for the trip

Verify that you are available for the trip dates (July 16–19, 2026).

🎣 The drawing for the two selected veterans will be held on June 22, 2026.
Why We Do It
At Cover 6 Outdoors – Bayou Edition, we believe the outdoors provides an opportunity for veterans to reconnect, recharge, and build lasting friendships. Sometimes the best therapy is a river, a fishing rod, and fellow veterans who understand the journey.

Only two veterans will be selected for this experience.

TRIP ALERT: June 19th 7:00 pm-until
Night bass fishing trip on Claiborne Lake. This is a one night event for 2 veterans we will start fishing at 7:00 and end at midnight. We have two great boat captains. We will not be providing lodging so you’ll either have to provide your lodging or be able to drive back. You must not have been fishing with us before and you must go to www.cover6outdoors.org and fill out the veteran application. We will have the drawing in monday. To enter comment”LETS GO FISHING”

Yesterday one of our vets got a very special trip. A full day guided trip with Hunter Freeman. Hunter contacted me and donated a guide trip an we were super excited to get a vet on the water with him. They had a great time and had the chances on some giants but that’s how fishing goes sometimes. We want to give a huge thank you to Hunter for stepping up and taking one of our brothers out. If you are looking for a guide on caney lake he’s definitely your guy. He supports our veteran community and our organization so let’s support him folks. Doing great things stepping up and helping us out…THANK YOU HUNTER #

TRIP ALERT: one day guided bass trip
With Caney Lake Guide and 2018 college national champion Hunter Freeman. June 6th 2026. Before you enter make 1000% sure you can be there please. You will need to supply your own transportation to Caney Lake that morning. Gonna be a day of big fun and big bass. Once vet is drawn we will fill you in on specifics. Our first cover 6 benefit tournament was a lot of fun. We had 11 boats today was hoping for more but there were tons of other tournaments going on. Would like to congratulate all our winners and thank everyone that too timeout of their Saturday to support a worthy cause.
17-1 won with a 5-9 big fish. I will post the top 3 an payouts soon
