Bossier Parish Fire Dist. # 1 Honor Guard Welcome to the Bossier Parish Fire District # 1 Honor guard page. The honor guard is completely volunteer and trains at least 1 time a week.

The Honor Guard was formed back in 2011 and is now under the leadership of Commander Tyler Strickland. The honor guard participates in several roles, like firefighter funerals, swearing in ceremonies for fire leaders and our annual banquet for Bossier Parish Fire District 1 and surrounding departments. The honor guard is funded by fundraisers and donations. Our very first Fundraiser was in may of

2021 and it was a great turnout. That money is used for various things but mainly our uniforms. If you have any questions please contact our central fire station at 318-949-9440 and ask for Tyler Strickland. Thank you and have a blessed day.

On July 23, 2023 we are going to be participating in a balloon release of one of our fallen honor guard members, Michael henry aka cowboy. Cowboy served on the honor guard since it was formed in 2011 and was a great asset to us, participating in many events across the arkla-tex. Please join us in remembering cowboy on that day. All we ask is you bring your own balloons in the color of red or black or both. It will start at 6 p.m at Hillcrest memorial. As it gets closer please watch this page for directions to his resting place.

Tonight the honor guard posted colors at a private event at louisiana downs, staff of this was very satisfied with our performance. Thank you all for the invite.

Today the honor guard attended a balloon release for one of our members that passed away 1 year ago today. Michael James Henry also known as cowboy was a loving father, firefighter, friend and a dedicated honor guard member. Cowboy you are dearly missed by all. Thank you all that showed up and attended the balloon release.

Please keep South Bossier Fire District 2 and the family of firefighter jessie Henry in your prayers. Firefighter jessie Henry passed away suddenly today after working maintenance on one of the fire trucks. Firefighter jessie you will be missed.
