From spellbound characters to dazzling movement, meet the artists who shape the magic behind the scenes.

Supporting our cast of professional dancers is the heart of the corps de ballet. It is comprised of exceptional young artists: DDB’s student company, Apprentices & Jr. Apprentices, whose technical discipline and artistic maturity rise to meet the demands of this intricate and highly structured work, representing Hatboro-Horsham High School, Lower Moreland High School, Upper Moreland High School, Lower Moreland Middle School, & Poquessing Middle School.

In the provincial heart of France, life unfolds with elegance and routine… and our fairy tale begins.

Beauty shares a tender bond with her father, built on kindness, protection, and a deep understanding of one another.

Surrounding them are Beauty’s two sisters: equally dazzling and demanding, whose endless fascination with fashion and status provides both humor and contrast to Beauty’s quieter presence.

Among the town’s aristocracy is a wealthy and handsome suitor. Accustomed to admiration and the attention of his entourage, he pursues Beauty with growing determination. Charming and confident, he cannot imagine refusal — and her disinterest only fuels his obsession.

As Beauty longs for adventure and companionship beyond the ordinary, she will soon discover that not every offer of love is what it seems.

In a world ruled by appearances and desire, where will she find the companionship — and the love — she truly seeks?

Did you know ❔ Act III of Beauty & the Beast opens with a modern work: Lamentations

The castle falls silent. 🏰

Once filled with light and quiet enchantment, it now lingers in shadow—hollow, grieving, waiting…. Every step echoes loss. Every movement carries the weight of love discovered too late. 💔

As the title suggests: This is a dance of sorrow and longing….
The Beast no longer rages—he breaks. Surrounded by absence of Beauty, he moves through regret, each breath a quiet plea for mercy. The castle mourns with him, its magic dimmed, its heart heavy. 🥀

“Like Fire & Ice: Fragile, Fierce, and Ever-Evolving” ❄️🔥🐦‍🔥

When a work is thirty years old & has not been in rotation- it’s actually quite fragile and needs even more care in meeting the artistic integrity and preserving the technical demands: all while preparing the dancers and considering the present day so the ballet continues to stay in our repertoire to delight today’s audiences and inspire/challenge the next generation of dancers. 🌹
