When Rehearsal Becomes a Classroom: rehearsals are not just about learning steps or blocking; it teaches curiosity, reflection, empathy, and how to ask deeper questions.

One of the most fascinating parts of the rehearsal process is watching our ever-inquisitive, always-curiously inspired Rose Petals discover the ballet.

Their questions weren’t just about what a character does—they were about why. What motivates her? What happened before this moment? What does she want? What is he afraid of? How does the rose feel?

The questions became so thoughtful and poignant that we eventually started telling them: “Write that down. Keep a journal. Save some of this exploration for your AP and college essays!” 😂

And honestly, that’s one of the greatest gifts of rehearsal.

The process teaches young artists to be curious, to look beneath the surface, to listen, to empathize, to think critically, and to find meaning in someone else’s story.

The performance may be what the audience sees—but the questions, discoveries, conversations, and growth that happen in rehearsal are also where so much of the real magic lives. 🌹✨

A merry exchange, the bright organization of plans, the faint sound of church bells, the rise of fog at dusk or dawn…. The spirit of Christmas is never quite as far away as we think….

This November 14 & 15, step into the hauntingly beautiful world of David Kloss’s Acclaimed Ballet, Christmas Carol—where shadows dance, ghosts whisper, and one cold heart is given one final chance to change.

With music that’s luminous & tense, dramatic neoclassical ballet, and a touch of Victorian magic, this timeless tale comes alive in a way that’s both enchanting and delightfully eerie.

Supporting our cast of professional dancers is the heart of the corps de ballet. It is comprised of exceptional young artists: DDB’s student company, Apprentices & Jr. Apprentices, whose technical discipline and artistic maturity rise to meet the demands of this intricate and highly structured work, representing Hatboro-Horsham High School, Lower Moreland High School, Upper Moreland High School, Lower Moreland Middle School, & Poquessing Middle School.

In the provincial heart of France, life unfolds with elegance and routine… and our fairy tale begins.

Beauty shares a tender bond with her father, built on kindness, protection, and a deep understanding of one another.

Surrounding them are Beauty’s two sisters: equally dazzling and demanding, whose endless fascination with fashion and status provides both humor and contrast to Beauty’s quieter presence.

Among the town’s aristocracy is a wealthy and handsome suitor. Accustomed to admiration and the attention of his entourage, he pursues Beauty with growing determination. Charming and confident, he cannot imagine refusal — and her disinterest only fuels his obsession.

As Beauty longs for adventure and companionship beyond the ordinary, she will soon discover that not every offer of love is what it seems.

In a world ruled by appearances and desire, where will she find the companionship — and the love — she truly seeks?
