Supporting the Fight for Jay Fennessy

Supporting the Fight for Jay Fennessy Supporting the Fennessy family as Jay battles back from a paralyzing bike injury. If anyone can do this, Jay can. In partnership with the Thomas E.

All donations to Jay’s fund are tax deductible and will directly support his recovery. Smith Foundation On May 19th, 2024, Jay Fennessy, beloved friend, father, husband, son and brother, was in a cycling accident that left him with a severe spinal cord injury. This injury has left Jay with no movement below the waist and as of today, Jay cannot walk on his own, relying on a wheelchair. While Jay

has the best chances to walk again because his injury is incomplete, and we believe he WILL walk again, it will be a long journey to his recovery. Jay’s positive mindset, resilience, determination and prayers from all of you will make this miracle happen. Our goal is to ensure that Jay and his family have access to the best resources and assistance during this critical time. We are reaching out to our community of friends and family to ask for support of Jay and his family through this long journey. The average yearly expenses associated with a spinal cord injury can be upward of $100k out of pocket. Your contributions will help Jay with rehabilitation and other medical needs. Funds will also go towards helping with retrofits that his home will need to accommodate his time in a wheelchair.

I wanted to update everyone on my progress and thank everyone who has supported our family over this past year.

Wow!!

Today marks a year in my journey since my accident last May. It’s amazing how fast time truly goes, but also how slow it can feel . This past year has been one of the most challenging years of my life both mentally and physically. But it’s also been one of the most rewarding years of my life as well. It’s hard to put into words everything that has transpired over the last 12 months to today. But when I sit here and reflect on my progress from where I was, to where I am today. It’s very humbling and amazing all at the same time.

I continue to rehab 3 days a week at Journey Forward in Canton MA just south of Boston, as well as being very active at home. Rehab is going very well, as I continue to work toward my goals. One thing is for sure this is a Marathon not a sprint, the day to day gains are small but added up over time and they become noticeable.

I’ve been back at work since November working from working and home. To say how grateful I am to be able to do this is an under statement. This all would not be possible without the love and support I’ve received from my work family.

Kristie, Ryleigh and Brayden thank you for all you do. Without you guys dad would not be where I am today. Babe you’ve been a rock since day one and couldn’t be more proud of how you have handled everything. I love you more than words can express, I’m a better man because of you. Life has a twisted way of revealing to us all how resilient we can be during difficult times.

I can’t thank you all enough for all the generosity, love, and support you have all have shown. Words can express how grateful I truly am and how much gratitude my family and I have for each and everyone of you.

I Don’t Quit!

More updates to come

Meet Adrian.

Adrian is a 38 year-old devoted father of two, whose life was forever changed by a devastating car accident, leaving him with both a spinal cord and traumatic brain injury. Prior to the accident, Adrian worked two jobs to support his family. But now, in this new reality, they are relying solely on his wife’s income to provide for their family of four.

Despite tremendous hurdles, Adrian’s resilience shines through as he pushes forward with unwavering determination. He is actively pursuing and training for wheelchair accessible jobs, while focusing on his physical rehabilitation to regain strength and mobility.

After meeting Adrian, his goal was clear: to become more independent and continue providing for his family.

TESF is proud to support Adrian’s journey by providing funding for his intensive physical therapy and a standing frame—tools that will help unlock his greatest potential for mobility.

Adrian’s relentless dedication to his family, paired with his courage to rise above adversity, is truly inspiring. His story is one of strength, hope, and the belief that with determination, we can redefine possible 💚💙
