Virginia Ridge and Valley Native Plants is a Facebook group that can be joined only virtually. The Virginia Native Plant Society on Facebook has both a page and a group.

Have you ever wondered about planting/nursery pot sizes? Why a gallon pot at a nursery seems way smaller than a gallon of milk? Me too!

One particular challenge is that there are different brands of pots and while many are same/similar sizes there's often discrepancies. Additionally, growers and wholesalers will call a pot by one name that doesn't reflect the pots actual size.

I feel bad sometimes because a grower will say "these are quarts!" and its a 4" pot and then I go to a sale promising quarts and bringing something smaller than quarts.

To solve that problem, I'm going to try to be more specific about pot size and volumes. I thought folks might want to see this conversion chart I made. This is square pots from just one grower, but they line up with most of the square pots I come in contact with.
