The Harrisonburg Appalachian Trail Community is excited to announce that on Thursday evening, April 16, Court Square Theater will again host our film and program promoting the Appalachian Trail.

We are delighted to announce that the documentary “Beyond the Tree Line” will be shown telling the experience of a couple from Lynchburg and their then 4-5 year old son who thru-hiked the trail as a family.

The father and son, as well as the film director, will be attending and available for a presentation and questions following the film. The doors will open at 5:30 pm with the program and film starting at 6pm.

Local author/hiker Steve Carpenter has written a book “The Allure and Peril of the Appalachian Trail”.

On Friday evening, March 20 from 7-8pm, Steve will hold an interview and sample reading in the Hotel Madison lobby. The book presents many fascinating stories and facts about the trail, and books will be available for sale.

The hotel lobby bar and restaurant will be open for those wishing to purchase food or beverages. Following the event, live music will be provided by Liz Barnes in the hotel lobby. Parking is available in the Hotel Madison section of the parking deck.
