November is , a time to pay tribute to the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces whose service and sacrifice have safeguarded our nation.

As proclaimed by Governor Josh Stein, we invite all North Carolinians to participate in during the week leading up to (Nov. 4-11) and help shine a green light of hope, gratitude, and support for our Veterans. 💚

District 17 held its meeting on October 31, hosted by Post 208 in Waxhaw. Those present enjoyed fellowship and lunch followed by the business part of the meeting. Ideas and information were presented. The meeting was enjoyed by all. Members of Robert F Macleod American Legion Post 523 - Harrisburg that attended were Commander Bennie Anderson, Adjutant Gerard Salluom, and Historian Judy Tarbox.

The United States Navy was officially established on Oct 13, 1775 when the Continential Congress authorized the creation of the Continential Navy during the American Revolution. Thank you to the men and women who have served and are presently serving.

Robert F Macleod American Legion Post 523 - Harrisburg will have the monthly meeting beginning at 6:30 PM Sept 21. The location is the Presbyterian Church, 4815 State Hwy 49 Harrisburg. All Veterans are welcome.

Robert F Macleod American Legion Post 523 - Harrisburg held the monthly meeting on Aug 17. Information and topics were discussed. The One Blood bus was in the parking lot. Donor collections will help save nine lives. Thank you to those donors. Awards were given to Retired US Air Force BG Vergel L. Lattimore and Commander Bennie Anderson. Regina Hickey with All Aspects Service Dogs was our guest Speaker.
