Keeping everyone updated on Delta. Delta is improving over all. She’s finally able to p**p on her own and she’s back to her personality. Mobility is still a little limited for her, not sure if it’s the kidneys or some other underlying issue. Even though she’s made marked improvements, her kidneys are still struggling. We’re doing a month long treatment for kidney infection and hoping this will improve her kidney function. We’re still very guarded with her prognosis but very happy to see Delta back to her quirky personality.

Another Update on Delta:

Thursday night and into early Friday morning,
Delta’s conditions seemed to be showing progress towards improving. She began urinating on her own and showing interest in food, even though she’s yet to have a bowel movement. I spoke with the vet on Friday and said that I wanted to give Delta over the weekend before we ran another kidney panel and make our decisions. This would allow her a couple of more days on antibiotics and her kidneys flushing. Delta definitely seems to be in better spirits and even eating very small amounts of food. She’s also still urinating on her own and I’m making sure she’s emptying the bladder completely. We have very guarded hope that her condition is improving. Our goal is that Monday when we go in for the blood work that there is major improvement in the kidneys, so Delta can be mildly sedated and have her bowels cleaned out. We’re not out of the woods by no means but she has given us a little hope. Please continue your prayers for a sweet girl.

Delta is still in need of your prayers. I believe in the power of prayer and she needs yours. We had to take Delts back to the vet today. She’s still not passing stool or urine on her own and not currently wanting to eat. The doctor did blood work and it shows that Delta is in renal failure. Which is not good. We’re hoping her high kidney levels is just from lack of bladder function. We’re praying she makes a vast improvement by Friday. If not we may have a hard decision to make.

UPDATE: Delta’s bowels are really…..really backed up. The doctor gave her an e***a and she has to take some mineral oil this evening. Hopefully that’ll push all the stool through. If it doesn’t get things moving, we’ll have to take her back in the morning. The vet will have to put her under anesthesia and manual clean her bowels. In other words, let’s be praying for Delta to have a BIG p**p tonight! 😬😳

Delta is not feeling well this morning. We’re currently at the vets to find out what’s going on. Please keep Delta in your thoughts and prayers.

Does it or doesn’t it exist? 🛑Black Dog Syndrome, (BDS)🛑 is talked about, but I love Black Dogs. I grew up with a black Lab who lived to be 16 years old, and I can still recall him with many loving memories. I’m sure many of you know, love, or have loved Black Dogs.
These two gorgeous young, female Black Dogs are looking for homes. The wonderful volunteers at Paw Control of Cherokee Village can tell you more about them. Thank you so much to the person that sent us the Vet Wrap from Chewy! This is an essential we keep here at the sanctuary. We use it daily to keep Delta’s socks on her little feet for protection. We also like having it on hand for any boo-boos the other residents may happen to get. Thank you for this wonderful donation.

My sweet goofy girls. Joey and Tappy always brighten my day. They’re both so funny. Joey pats me down for cookies because daily treats (cookies) are expected and Tappy enjoys cuddle time, not completely in my lab, but most of the way 🤣

Update on our Newest little resident.
Ghost’s c**t now has a name! Thanks to our friend Kim’s suggestion, we have decided to name him Boo. Which is very fitting for him. His little white blaze even looks kind of like a ghost. Mom and baby Boo are doing great. Ghost is doing a great job keeping weight on herself (despite her age) and feeding her fairly large baby. Boo is growing like a w**d. He’s already gave me a mild heart attack after scratching his fetlock on something. But it’s healing fine and the vet told me I could relax a little and he’s doing great🤣.
