From strategic planning and capital acquisition to marketing strategy, accounting, procurement, and more, the UGA SBDC continues to be an incredible resource for Georgia businesses.

A few impactful takeaways from the morning:
• In 2025, the UGA SBDC consulted with 4,725 clients
• Training programs were attended by 4,387 Georgians
• Businesses receiving long-term SBDC assistance experience higher sales growth
• Over the past five years, the UGA SBDC has contributed to 15,074 jobs created across Georgia

The biggest takeaway: these services are accessible and available to our local businesses right here in Northeast Georgia.

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — Habersham County voters officially approved the continuation of the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (E-SPLOST VII) during Tuesday’s election, reaffirming the community’s commitment to investing in local schools, students, and educational infrastructure.

The passage of E-SPLOST VII will provide critical funding for capital improvements, technology upgrades, school safety enhancements, transportation needs, and facility improvements across the Habersham County School System — all without increasing property
taxes.

Community leaders, educators, parents, and business partners joined together throughout the campaign to educate voters on the long-term impact the measure will have on the future of education and workforce development in Habersham County.

“This vote reflects the strong support our community has for education and for preparing future generations for success,” said Alex Robinson, Partnership Habersham Executive Director. “The approval of E-SPLOST VII ensures that Habersham County Schools can continue providing high-quality learning environments and resources for students while maintaining fiscal responsibility.”

Since its inception, E-SPLOST funding has played a major role in supporting school construction, classroom modernization, technology initiatives, transportation upgrades, and campus safety projects throughout the county. The continuation of the program allows
the school system to address both current and future needs while supporting continued growth across Habersham County.

Partnership Habersham and community stakeholders also highlighted the importance of strong educational infrastructure in supporting economic development efforts and workforce readiness initiatives throughout the region. Partnership Habersham is thankful to
the school system, businesses, residents, volunteers, and parents who helped make positive outcome possible.

We are excited the Gainesville Inland Port is now OPEN!

On Ga. 365 heading toward Gainesville, seven blue cranes tower over the trees at mile marker 30. This is the Northeast Georgia region’s newest infrastructural giant and economic powerhouse: the Gainesville Inland Port.

Previously known as the Blue Ridge Connector, the Gainesville Inland Port (GIP) is now open for business as of May 4, the culmination of over six years of work from the Georgia Ports Authority to bring inland shipping and rail capabilities to the region.
