In honor of Economic Development Week and Small Business Week both taking place this week, we partnered with the to provide a special lunch and learn for some of our commercial bankers and lenders in Habersham County. The UGA Small Business Development Center shared how their services can help companies, from entrepreneurial start ups to existing industry expansions, prepare to secure their financing needed to make their business goals a reality.

Local banks are your ally in starting and growing your business; by keeping a pulse on what’s happening in your community, they serve as your local, trusted financial resource. Thank you to our bankers who were able to join us yesterday and for all you do in helping businesses start and grow right here in Habersham County!

A great community doesn’t just grow businesses—it creates places people want to live, work, and visit.
We’re proud to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Donald Anderson Park right here in Cornelia, Georgia! 🌿✂️
Parks like this are more than green space—they’re powerful economic drivers. They boost property values, attract new residents and talent, support local businesses, and enhance quality of life—all key ingredients for sustainable economic development.
Here’s to investing in places that bring people together and move our community forward.

We are excited the Gainesville Inland Port is now OPEN!

On Ga. 365 heading toward Gainesville, seven blue cranes tower over the trees at mile marker 30. This is the Northeast Georgia region’s newest infrastructural giant and economic powerhouse: the Gainesville Inland Port.

Previously known as the Blue Ridge Connector, the Gainesville Inland Port (GIP) is now open for business as of May 4, the culmination of over six years of work from the Georgia Ports Authority to bring inland shipping and rail capabilities to the region.

Partnership Habersham is proud to recognize Economic Development Week 2026, officially proclaimed by the Habersham County Board of Commissioners during their April 20th meeting.

Economic development plays a critical role in shaping the future of Habersham County—supporting job creation, strengthening our existing industries, and expanding the tax base in a way that helps ease the burden on residents.

We’re proud to work alongside our public and private partners to build a stronger, more resilient local economy.

This we are giving an update on our Habersham Works program! Some of our students in the Habersham Works program had the opportunity to tour Morito Scovill Americas and Foundation Core and Tube, LLC on Monday. Our students got to see what a career in Habersham County looks like, and how the skills they have been learning throughout the program are utilized in the workforce.

Our students also learned about the characteristics that help you stand out in an interview and on the job. From dressing appropriately and ask questions during an interview, to being willing to think outside the box to solve problems and be a team player, they gained valuable insight into what can help them stand out as they prepare to enter the workforce. They also learned about what helps them grow within a company, showing how there is always an opportunity to set goals and further your career in any company.

Thank you Morito Scovill Americas and Foundation Core and Tube, LLC for hosting us on Monday. And thank you to the staff of North Georgia Technical College and Habersham Success Academy who have made this program successful. We are so excited to graduate these students from the Habersham Works program.
