New Leash K9 Rescue is located in Hampton Roads, VA. We take in dogs from all kinds of situations, from abused and neglected to having to give up your dog due to everyday life circumstances. Typically we take in the dogs that are put up for "free" on craigslist. We ALL know what can happen to those babies! We also have had a few owner surrenders, due to moving and having a new baby. All of our pe

ts are adopted out current on shots, heart worm and flea preventative and will be spayed or neutered if they are of appropriate age. A contract and house check is required in order to adopt any dog or puppy. We do require a vet reference and two personal references.

We need your help ‼️ A local hunt club found a mom and her 5 pups.. appear to be hound/beagle mixes abandoned. Unfortunately the pups have parvo and need medical attention.

Rescues do you have space for 5 pups?

This boy will die today at 5 PM if no one steps up for him. He has been at Surry County Animal Control for a little under a month and his time has run out. We just noticed a post about this so we are sharing him in hopes that somebody might be able to adopt him. As a reminder, our rescue is closed to intake other the medical emergencies, so we are not able to pull him to safety.  Please reach out to animal control directly at 336-401-8481 if you have interest in helping him. 

And please do not under any circumstances harass animal control employees about this situation. The reason why animals die at our animal control facility is because too many animals are in need and the facility has a finite capacity. If you want to point the finger somewhere, point the finger at the people that let their animals to run stray, allow their animals to breed, and otherwise find reasons that they need to get rid of their animals. Animal control employees can only do so much, same with the rescues that try to help. The need is just too great.
