We are continuing to make progress on the Multi Court Renovation Project. Klein Fencing and Play Pro Recreation were in town today completing the preparation work for the asphalt overlay to be poured. The sleeves for the pickleball net poles have been installed. Next step is pouring the asphalt. 😎

The Kindness Kupboard has made its way to the Halbur Memorial Park. We are deeply grateful to Dale Wittrock for bringing this vision to life and all those who have donated to it. This is a Kupboard that we hope many will visit to both take what you need and leave what you can.

In the spirit of giving, please ensure donations are non perishable, unexpired foods in non-glass containers. Hygiene and toilet paper products are welcome. All donations are appreciated.

More exciting progress to report on our Multi-Courts Project!

Klein Fence Company was in Halbur on Monday, 4/13/26, continuing preparation of the existing asphalt surface. They ground down the heaving cement around the fence poles and predrilled holes for the pickleball fence.

Next up, Play Pro Recreation will drill holes and install sleeves for the pickleball net poles. After that, we’ll be ready to set a date for the asphalt overlay.

Once the new surface is poured, it will be extremely important that everyone helps keep it free from contact—no people, animals, wheels, etc.—until it is officially open for use. Even after opening, we ask that all wheels and sharp objects (including spiked shoes) stay off the entire surface to help maintain it for years to come.

A special thanks to Bob and Patty Savage for the aerial photo!

The brush pile is now available to residents of the City of Halbur.

The brush pile will be open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, weather permitting. If the gates are open the site can be utilized.

Please see below for acceptable materials. All branches, logs, limbs etc., should be cut to a manageable length. There will a compost area in the near future as well.

The Halbur City Council asks that all residents be respectful and responsible in the use of the brush pile and surrounding areas. If there are any questions feel free to contact the City Clerk through this post, email or phone.

The moment we have all been waiting for!!! All of the planning and fundraising is paying off! Today construction began on our Multi-court Project thanks to local volunteers and Halbur Public Works, Chad Grossman. Within a couple of hours this morning this generous crew removed and stored the existing fence and removed the tennis net/poles and basketball hoops.

Contracts have been signed with Central Asphalt Paving, Inc; Klein Fence Company, and PlayPro Recreation to complete this project. Next steps will include preparing for and pouring a 2 inch overlay of asphalt, fencing/pole installation, and application of surface coating for the 2 Pickleball Courts and lines for a 1/2 basketball court.

None of this would be possible without the generous support and donations from our community and surrounding area businesses. Thank you for helping us turn this vision into a reality.
