Ten Pointe is always right there in the middle of whatever is going on! He comes running to you if he thinks he might get some attention. Such a fun personality on this guy!

Remember this poor girl we helped a few weeks ago? She thinks life is pretty great right now even though she still has a long way to go in her rehab.
According to her teeth she's close to 30 years old....and the only thing that was missing in her life before we found her was love, feed and a little care.
We are still trying to identify her so we can give her her name back.
Thank you to everyone that has helped in her journey. We can't do this without your support!

27 looks good on this guy! I know our time with him is limited at this point, but Zee Oh Six still has that determined attitude that made him a champion!

Vet report today on this little mama! The antibiotics are helping, but she has to stay on them at least another 60 days. Her amniotic fluid looks better.....not great yet, but better and that in itself is a win!
I was able to see the heartbeat, ribcage and spine of the little foal. (and will try to post that video later)
She had a rhino vaccine and will be keeping up with that series throughout her pregnancy.
As always, a big thanks to Dr. Brakenhoff and the entire Oakridge Equine Hospital staff for always providing the best care for our horses!
Oh....1 more thing....she weighs 1125 lbs. She's not very tall...but she's sure stocky!

Our new girl had a bath today while in quarantine. She looks pathetic, (poor girl) but now has a full belly and some love and care from her care giver, Lisa.
It's beyond me how people can be so cruel as to allow a horse to get in this condition. It took 8 weeks to get our gray mare looking better. It will take this sweet soul much longer.

Winning at Ease is looking great after just 8 weeks! We appreciate everyone that has supported her journey.
We now have 2 mares that were recently intercepted from the slaughter pipeline. Both need ongoing medical attention. Thankfully, we have a great vet team and dedicated volunteers that help to keep our horses healthy!

Someone thought it was a good idea to throw this poor old and gentle mare away.
Thankfully, we have a plan. Beyond the Roses and Thoroughbred Athletes are collaborating again to step in and stop the suffering. Two long standing and experienced rescues, that care what happens long after the finish line and the last step out of the breeding shed.
This mare needs help, so we at 'Beyond The Thoroughbred Athlete' will do all we can for her.
Once again, we need your help .
Your donations help us help them.

Look at these boys acting like they pay their own vet bills!
Ten Pointe and Little Can were instant friends, but I must admit, their playtime is both hilarious and terrifying at the same time!
Photo credit goes to our amazing volunteer John Kirk....who always gets the best action shots!

Posting this to show that no horse is safe from ending up at risk or in the wrong hands if we send them to an auction.
This is a nice mare. Not a world be**er, but she tried hard and did what was asked of her in 47 starts.
I'm quite sure that, due to who her sire is....she was retired as a broodmare and bred in hopes of her throwing a foal that was at least as successful as her sire.
Somewhere along this road she was sent to an auction ...in foal and in danger. She's been exposed to the worst diseases, has been neglected and she certainly has very little trust in humans right now.
Due to the neglect and exposure she has endured, her foal is in danger right now.
She will need ongoing vet care and we will give her everything she needs. We could sure use your help though. Any amount is appreciated to help this tough little girl get through these next several months. With hay, feed and fuel costs rising...we need all the help we can get!

This girl could use some good healing vibes...we found out today that she is in foal but does have some complications. ...mostly from neglect and just trying to survive. We don't know what she's bred to....so that's a complication as well.
