Thank you Guilford Community Fund

A heartfelt thank you to the Community Fund of Guilford for its dedication, generosity, and unwavering commitment to strengthening our community.

The Community Fund is a remarkable organization made up entirely of volunteers who generously give their time and talents to support local nonprofits. Throughout the year, they work tirelessly to raise funds, engage the community, and champion the important work being done by organizations across the Shoreline. Each June, they distribute the proceeds of those efforts, helping nonprofit organizations continue to serve those in need.
This year, 24 deserving nonprofit organizations were selected to receive funding, and Guilford Interfaith Volunteers was honored to be among them.

To the Community Fund Board of Directors, Honorary Chairman Andrew Page, and the many members of our community whose generosity makes this possible, we extend our sincere gratitude. Your support helps strengthen the network of care, compassion, and service that makes Guilford such a special place.

Thank you for believing in the work of local nonprofits and for investing in the well-being of our community.

With Gratitude,

The staff of GIV:

GIV - July Round-Up Recipient at Bishop's Farm Market

Thank You, Bishops, and Thank You to Our Community
Guilford Interfaith Volunteers is honored to be the selected recipient of the Round Up Program at Bishop's Orchards during the month of July.

We extend our sincere thanks to Bishops for their continued commitment to supporting local nonprofits and strengthening our community. Their generosity provides organizations like ours with valuable opportunities to further our mission of neighbors helping neighbors.

We also thank each and every customer who chooses to round up their purchase. While the change may seem small, those contributions add up quickly and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families we serve.
If you're visiting Bishops this July, we hope you'll consider rounding up at the register to support Guilford Interfaith Volunteers. Your spare change helps provide meals, medical equipment, friendly visits, food assistance, and other vital services to those in need throughout our community.

Together, we continue to prove that small acts of kindness can have a big impact.

Chloe's Closet receives Community Impact Grant from The Guilford Foundation

On behalf of everyone at Guilford Interfaith Volunteers, thank you to The Guilford Foundation for your continued support and belief in our mission of Neighbor Helping Neighbor.

Over the years, your partnership has helped us provide vital services throughout our community, ensuring that individuals and families receive the support, compassion, and resources they need. This year, your encouragement and support helped us expand our footprint even further with the launch of Chloe's Closet, our newest division dedicated to providing pediatric medical equipment to children and families in need. We thank you for our recent financial support.

Your investment in our work does more than help fund programs—it creates opportunities, strengthens connections, and helps build a more caring community. We are grateful for your vision, leadership, and commitment to improving the lives of those who call the Connecticut shoreline home.

Thank you for serving as a vehicle for so much good throughout our region. We are honored to partner with an organization that continually inspires and empowers nonprofits to make a meaningful difference.

With sincere gratitude,
The Guilford Interfaith Volunteers Team

Charlie's Closet receives donation from Trail of Terror. Tony Sicignano, Director of Charlie's Closet accepts a check from Marlene & Bruce Thorp of Trail of Terror. Each year, the Trail of Terror operates a Halloween extravaganza in Wallingford, CT. All proceeds are donated to local charities and non-profits. Charlie's Closet was one of the beneficiaries from this year's event. Over the past 30 years, the Trail has donated over 2.5 million dollars.

Run strictly by volunteers, their motto is “We Scare Because We Care”. Their hard work and sacrifice each season is done not only to provide guests with the most nightmarish frights possible, but to benefit those in local community who need support the most. Visit their websites for more information about this fantastic organization at www.trailofterror.com or www.scarecrew.org

Tickets go on sale each August and sell out quickly.

GIV is most appreciative of the support from this wonderful event.

Thank you VOX Church & Sherwin-Williams

Guilford Interfaith Volunteers would like to extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful volunteers from Vox Church for their help on Saturday, June 6, during their official Day of Service.

After learning about our mission, the Vox team reached out and immediately offered their support. Their willingness to serve, driven simply by a desire to spread compassion and kindness to organizations helping the community, was both inspiring and deeply appreciated.

Thanks to their hard work, our volunteers accomplished several important projects, including:
• Rebuilding our handicap-accessible ramp
• Painting our office space
• Cleaning and refreshing our Meals on Wheels delivery bags

These projects will have a lasting impact on our ability to serve others, and they would not have been possible without your generosity and dedication.

All the paint and stain for the project was donated by Nathaniel Morrison of the Branford Sherwin-Williams Store.

We cannot thank you enough for believing in our work and for giving your time and talents so freely. Your service reflects the very best of what community is all about, and we are grateful to have partners like you helping us make a difference.

Birdies for Charity - Support GIV

In 2004, The Travelers Championship launched the Birdies for Charity program, to help nonprofits across the region raise awareness and funds to support their missions. Thanks to the support of Webster Bank, organizations have the opportunity to receive a 15% bonus on every donation through the program.

100% of every donation collected goes directly to GIV. Donations are accepted through June 28, 2026. Please support GIV.

A big "THANK YOU" to all the folks who donated to GIV during the 2026 Great Give Campaign. We raised $3,550 from individuals plus a $2,000 Matching Grant Challenge from The MFUNd, a foundation which provides creative funding to environmental programs that support the establishment and maintenance of a sustainable food system.

Guilford Interfaith Volunteers would like to thank Guilford Marketplace (www.marketplaceguilford.com) for allowing us to be the beneficiary of the “Round Up” program. Each month, they encourage customers to “round up” their purchases to support local charities, and we were fortunate to be the March beneficiary.

Thank you to the Marketplace for supporting our mission of “Neighbor Helping Neighbor,” and thank you to everyone who chose to round up during the month of March. Your generosity helps us continue saying yes to those in need throughout our community.

We are excited to share a special addition to our new division at 55 Park Street—a beautifully crafted sign that will be proudly displayed outside.

The background of the sign was thoughtfully handmade, and the level of detail and care truly shows. We cannot thank Randy McCartney enough for the time, talent, and craftsmanship he put into creating something so meaningful for our organization.

It’s more than just a sign—it’s a reflection of the pride, dedication, and community spirit that surrounds this new chapter for us.

Thank you, Randy, for helping us make it even more special.

We are incredibly grateful to all of our volunteers and special speakers who made our Sunday Supper at the Carol Marra Volunteer Appreciation event so meaningful. A heartfelt thank you to Ruth Meoli, Matt Hoey, Reverend Dr. Ginger Brasher Cunningham, and Julie Fitzpatrick for sharing your time, words, and spirit with us.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Larry Santamaria for the use of the beautiful Guilford VFW, which provided the perfect setting for such a special gathering.

Our small gift this year captured it best: Small Town, Big Heart – Guilford, CT.
