The mission of the KARE foundation is to provide funds to help support expenses for individuals faced with Glioblastoma or Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.

EIN 87-2988633 The mission for the foundation is to provide funds to help support travel and medical expenses for individuals faced with life threatening illnesses. Paul’s family was impacted by the harsh reality of medical and travel expenses related to both Paul’s illness and that of his daughter Allie, who has a serious heart condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Paul would be proud to know the mission of his foundation is to help alleviate the stress on families by providing financial support to those in need. As a small business owner in the automotive industry, Paul was devoted to training and mentoring young talent. The foundation will be committed to help give the financial jump-start in the form of scholarships or other financial support to assist young adults hoping to pursue a career in the trades. Complications from the disease may have taken life away from Paul Dostie, but his legacy helping others will continue!!! A Christmas tree, a cup of cocoa, and a little KARE. 🎄☕💚

Our friends at Winterberry Farm in Killingworth are once again turning a holiday tradition into a way to give back!

On weekends, stop into the red barn, warm up by the cozy wood stove, and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate. Donations collected for cocoa will benefit the Paul Dostie KARE Foundation. ❤️

This family-owned, choose-and-cut Christmas tree farm offers trees for $75—any size, any variety—plus wreaths, kissing balls, and handcrafted gifts.

❤️ Meet Joe Flamini, affectionately known as “Karma Joe,” a man whose generous heart and love for bringing people together have touched so many lives.

In February, Joe was diagnosed with glioblastoma (GBM). After surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, his journey has taken another heartbreaking turn. Through it all, the people and relationships he treasures remain close to his heart.

The Paul Dostie KARE Foundation is honored to stand beside Joe and provide financial support during this difficult time. Having lost Paul to GBM in 2021, this mission is deeply personal to our family.

We can’t always change what someone is facing, but we can remind them they are not alone. ❤️

❤️ A NEW HEART. A NEW CHAPTER OF HOPE. ❤️

After more than 460 days in the hospital, our former KARE recipient, Melony Rivera, received her new heart yesterday—and her transplant surgery was a success!

A Berlin Heart pump helped keep Melony alive while she waited. Today, we celebrate this incredible milestone and the hope it brings for her future. ❤️

Please keep Melony and her family in your prayers as she recovers. We’re praying that her body accepts her new heart, that her recovery goes smoothly, and that she can finally return home. 🙏

We also hold the donor family close in our hearts. In the midst of heartbreaking loss, their decision to donate gave Melony a chance at life. We are deeply grateful and ask you to keep them in your prayers, too.

We’re all rooting for you, sweet Melony. As Paul would say, “YOU GOT THIS!” ❤️
