We are a non-profit organization of full and part-time farmers, foresters, loggers, teamsters, animal owners, homesteaders, land owners, and folks interested in learning more about any of these activities. Not only are there still people using animals for power, but there are many that do it for a living or to supp

ort their families’ lifestyle in a kind and sustainable manner. The goal of the Draft Animal-Power Network is to highlight ongoing efforts of people throughout the region who are educating, mentoring and building community around animal-power and renewable land use, providing opportunities for education & networking throughout the year. Our Board of Directors is full and active, but seeks new volunteers each fall to serve the organization. There are also several working committees that often have openings for member-volunteers. Please contact any of our board members or our administrator if you would like to get involved.

We're incredibly sorry to share that Cal Hardage, who had been helping DAPNet produce The DAPCast, passed away unexpectedly last week on his farm in Oklahoma. In our all too brief tenure together, Cal was instrumental in getting season 2 of The DAPCast up and running and in consulting with us on tech topics. He was extremely patient and kind in his dealings with our amateur podcasting team, incredibly friendly, self-deprecating, and funny. We will miss him very much.

Cal's own podcast is called Grazing Grass. All 225 episodes can be found here https://www.grazinggrass.com/

We are very pleased to announce that the winner of this year’s DAPNet Field Days Art Contest is Lotta Hauswaldt! Congratulations to the winner, and a huge thank you to everyone who participated and shared their creativity with us. We were amazed by the talent and passion shown in every submission, and we look forward to seeing even more incredible artwork next year.

Lotta is an artist who primarily creates linolcuts. She has worked on different farms throughout Canada, Germany and the US, after graduating from Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development, Germany. Her art is inspired by the daily farm work, her passion for draft animals and glimpses of other cultures.

Bonus: This year we are also celebrating 15 years of DAPNet and we are planning to use more artwork from the art contest to celebrate. Stay tuned!!
