Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, which commemorates the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in the United States were informed of their emancipation in Galveston, Texas.

Juneteenth is both a celebration of freedom and an opportunity to reflect on our nation's history and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

In observance, the NATP office is closed today.
